China to add 55 to 65 GW of PV installed capacity in 2021: Recently, the Photovoltaic Industry Development Review in 2020 and 2021 Situation Outlook Seminar was hosted online by the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA). At the event, Wang Bohua, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CPIA highlighted that in 2020, China’s newly installed photovoltaic capacity was 48.2 GW, an increase of 60% year-on-year, and the cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity had reached 253 GW. From January to November 2020, the cumulative newly installed capacity of households was 10.1 GW, and the average monthly installed capacity of households from January to November was 918 MW. He predicted that in 2021 the world’s newly installed capacity will reach 150 GW, and China will add between 55 to 65 GW.
Goodwe inverters assist mountain PV power stations: The 4 MW mountain photovoltaic power station in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, where Goodwe had provided photovoltaic inverter solutions has been successfully connected to the grid for power generation, the Chinese inverter company said in an announcement. The PV inverter and energy storage solutions manufacturer also added that this project has been included in the Zhejiang Province’s 2020 photovoltaic power generation national bidding subsidy list. Shangneng Electric storage solutions help Zhangjiakou project get grid-connected: As per a report by Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network News, the Zhangjiakou Multi-energy Complementary Integration Demonstration Project that has been constructed using Shangneng Electric Energy’s storage solutions, has been successfully connected to the grid. The energy storage project has a capacity of 10MW/10MWh and uses 4 sets of Shangneng Electric 2.5MW/2.5MWh medium-voltage box-type energy storage converter + energy storage battery container system. On completion, this project is expected to become an ‘innovation base’ for comprehensive utilization of multi-energy complementary clean energy, integrating photovoltaic, wind power and energy storage.
