Shanghai HIUV 2020 net profit increase by 230% year-on-year: As per the 2020 annual performance report released by Shanghai HIUV New Materials, the solar module encapsulation supplier said it achieved a total operating income of RMB 483 billion ($74.70 billion), a year-on-year increase of 39.5%. The net profit was RMB 221 million ($34.18 million), a year-on-year increase of 230.37%. The company’s improved financial numbers can be attributed to its efforts towards expanding its production capacity and actively seeking industry orders and the macro environment. There was also an increase in the sales volume and average sales unit price of the leading product EVA film from the previous year. In addition, the company said it continued to optimize and effectively improve the product structure and efficiency of production management, leading to significant increase in company profit. JA Solar builds 20 GW crystal pulling and slicing production line in Baotou: Chinese vertically integrated solar module manufacturer JA Solar, in an announcement, said that it has joined hands with its subsidiary Baotou JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. to build a 20 GW crystal pull and 20 GW slice production line in Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park. The total investment of the project is RMB 5.024 billion ($0.78 billion).

Trina to build 10 GW high-efficiency module facility in Yancheng: Trina Solar intends to invest in the construction of a high-efficiency photovoltaic module production line in Yancheng Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. Specifying the details, the Chinese solar module manufacturer said in an announcement that the total investment of the project is about RMB 2.5 billion ($0.39 billion), with an annual production capacity of 10 GW. Almaden 2020 annual performance report released: Releasing its annual performance report for the year 2020, solar glass and module manufacturer Changzhou Almaden Co., Ltd announced that it has achieved an operating income of RMB 1.803 billion ($0.28 billion), an increase of 52.22% compared with the same period last year; and a net profit of RMB 137 million ($21.19 billion), which is an increase of 241.27% compared with the same period last year. The main reasons for the growth in performance were the strong demand in the photovoltaic market and the rapid increase in the market penetration of ultra-thin double glass modules, the company added.
