LONGi begins 2nd phase of Huanglong 1.5 GW power plant project:  Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi group announced that the second phase of the 1.5 GW grid parity demonstration base project built jointly by Huanglong County government and LONGi Clean Energy has officially begun construction. The project takes LONGi Smart PV power plant solution as the starting point and adopts technologies such as LONGi monocrystalline high-efficiency module and high-power string inverters, combined with a PV and ‘environmental restoration solution’ to create a new generation of smart ecological PV projects.

Baofeng to supply silicon wafers to Jiangsu Runergy: In an announcement, Baofeng Modern said that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary Baofeng Silicon Science & Technology and Jiangsu Runergy New Energy Technology have entered into a silicon wafer framework sale and purchase agreement. As per the agreement, Baofeng will supply 200 million pieces high-efficiency cast monocrystalline silicon wafers to Runergy. The unit price of silicon wafers shall be determined in the purchase order signed by both parties on a monthly basis. The agreement will expire on 8 June 2022.

Trina and Sinopec sign cooperation agreement: Trina Solar and Sinopec Group have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing to carry out in-depth cooperation in zero-carbon energy transformation in gas stations, green power hydrogen production, photovoltaic material supply and R&D.

LONGi silicon wafer prices remain unchanged: Announcing its monocrystalline silicon wafer prices for July, LONGi said that the prices of G1, M6 and M10 size wafers remain stable. Here is a quick look at how the prices stand as of now:

  • 75/223mm 170μm thickness of G1 size wafers is at RMB 4.79/piece ($0.74/piece)
  • M6 170μm thickness (166/223mm) is at RMB 4.89/piece ($0.76/piece)
  • M10 170μm thickness (182/247mm) is at 5.87 RMB/piece ($0.91/piece)
