• LONGi is offering 30-year linear power output warranty and 10-year product process warranty for its BIPV products
  • Trina Solar’s Tallmax modules with up to 395W output have been deployed for 86 MW largest subsidy free solar PV project in Italy
  • DZS Solar has secured a TUV Rheinland certificate for its G12 shingled solar module

LONGi details BIPV technology: At the recently concluded SNEC 2020 event in Shanghai, LONGi Solar provided details of its building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) technology which it first announced in July 2020 (see China PV News Snippets: LONGi BIPV, JA Solar H1/2020). It comes with 2 mm tempered glass on the surface and a non-combustible aluminum-zinc plated steel plate at the bottom. The products in this line comeswith a 30-year linear power output warranty and 10-year product process warranty. LONGi’s BIPV panels have double-sided frameless components that lower power generation loss. The introduction of this line is part of LONGi’s industrial expansion strategy as it targets commercial and industrial segment calling the modules suitable for both newly built and existing factory roofs.

86 MW Trina Solar modules for subsidy-free Italian project: Trina Solar says it has supplied 86 MW of its high efficiency Tallmax solar modules for a 86 MW project in Italy, which it says is the largest subsidy-free solar facility in the country. The Torre Antonacci Solar Project is located in the San Severo area in Fogia province and is owned by Margherita. The Tallmax modules have up to 395 W power output and come with 144 half-cut monocrystalline PERC cells with multi-busbar design. With these modules, Trina Solar says, the grid parity project can further lower its LCOE. It can generate 140 million kWh of clean power annually.

Both LONGi and Trina Solar were part of the first Virtual Conference of TaiyangNews on July 29 & 30, 2020 to discuss 500W+ modules and the way forward (see TaiyangNews Virtual Conference On 500W+ Solar Modules). On the occasion, TaiyangNews also released its 500W+ Solar Modules Report. It can be downloaded for free here.

DZS Solar secures TUV Rheinland certificate: TUV Rheinland has officially issued a certification for the new G12 shingled module of DZS Solar which it claims is the world’s ‘first’ new IEC certificate for 210 mm shingled components issued by the German testing and certification company. These G12 shingled modules, says DZS Solar, can reach 600W+ module output and an efficiency of more than 21%. Simultaneously, DZS announced signing a strategic cooperation agreement with TUV Rheinland under which the latter will use the global PV service and platform to fully support the progress of the DZS Solar G12 high-efficiency shingled solar module project.
