280 GW Solar Installation till Aug 2021, says NEA: Releasing the national electricity industry statistics from January to August 2021, the National Energy Administration of China (NEA) said that as of August end, the national installed power generation capacity is 2280 GW, an increase of 9.5% year-on-year. Out of this, the cumulative installed capacity of solar power generation as on August 31, 2021 is about 280 GW, an increase of 24.6% year-on-year. Last month, the NEA, which is responsible for formulating and implementing industry policies and energy development plans in China, had published policies to boost distributed PV deployment (see China PV News Snippets: Trina, Sungrow, NEA, Ginglong)

State Grid to entrust SNPDRI with RMB 100 mn project: Power grid operator State Grid Jilin Province Electric Power announced that it intends to entrust the EPC contract of Sino-Korea Demonstration Zone to State Nuclear Electric Power Planning Design & Research Institute (SNPDRI). This contract is worth RMB 100.5 million ($15.56 million, and includes renewable energy, PEM hydrogen production, hydrogenation, and integrated innovation demonstration projects. Out of the entire contract, about RMB 53.67 million ($8.31 million) is set aside for photovoltaic and RMB 46.83 million ($7.25 million) for hydrogen production. Recently, State Grid Jilin Province Electric Power said that it will be establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary to coordinate the development of centralized and distributed photovoltaics in Wangqing County (see China PV News Snippets: Yunnan, State Grid, Jinggong, Levima)

Pingmei 6 mn km diamond cutting wire project put into operation: The ultra-fine diamond cutting wire project of Pingmei Shenma Group in Guangshan New Material Industrial Park has been officially put into production. With an investment of RMB 683 million ($105.72 million), the project will produce 6 million kilometers wire annually.

Xinyi partners with Heilongjiang Daqing: The government of Daqing City in Heilongjiang has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xinyi Energy to build a megawatt-class photovoltaic, new energy industrial base, and related industrial supporting projects in the city, the government website said. The new energy industry base will include 5 GW PV power plants with a total investment of RMB 16 billion ($2.48 billion). Then there will be 10 industrial projects such as animal husbandry and photovoltaic integration with a total investment of about RMB 4 billion ($0.62 billion).

Ningxia Jiaze builds RMB 320 mn 100 MW PV project: In an announcement, green energy development company Ningxia Jiaze New Energy revealed plans to invest RMB 320 million ($49.53 million) in the construction of a 100 MW photovoltaic project. The company stated that once the project is completed and put into production, the scale of the company's new energy power generation industry will be further expanded.
