Open-Pit Coal to set up subsidiaries for PV projects: Clean energy developer Open-Pit Coal Industry announced that it plans to establish two subsidiaries – Chifeng Narentai New Energy and Shandong Narentai New Energy, with a registered capital of RMB 1 million ($0.15 million) each. Chifeng Narentai and Shandong Narentai will be responsible for the development and construction of the first batch of 50 MW and 100 MW residential solar power generation projects in Wengniute Banner and Shandong Province, respectively. Recently, Open-Pit proposed a joint venture with Shanghai Jolywood Smart New Energy Co., Ltd to construct a 400 MW PV power generation project in Dongsheng (see China PV News Snippets: Clenergy, Open-Pit, Yongwei, Zhenen)

China Huadian to develop 5.1 GW wind & PV projects in Xinjiang: State-owned power generation enterprise China Huadian Corporation Ltd's e-commerce platform issued an announcement that Huadian Xinjiang Power Generation Co., Ltd has won the bid to build new wind and solar power stations in the Xinjiang region in 2021-2022. The company plans to develop wind and solar projects of a total scale of 5.1 GW, and will configure energy storage and hydrogen production equipment too.

Jolywood to develop 220 MW rooftop PV project: Bifacial solar cell and module manufacturer Jolywood said that it has got into an agreement with Zhuqiao Town to develop distributed photovoltaic rooftop systems for the entire town. The planned scale of the project is 220 MW. Recently, Jolywood had partnered with Anxing Town for a 100 MW distributed solar rooftop project (see China PV News Snippets: Xinte, Concord, Jolywood, Parknx)

LONGi increases its wafer prices: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi posted its latest silicon pricing on its official website. The announcement stated that the price of 158.75mm, 166mm and 182mm silicon wafers have risen on Aug. 19 by RMB 0.2-0.24/piece ($0.031-0.037/piece) to RMB 4.99 / 5.09 / 6.11 from RMB 4.79 / 4.89 / 5.87 end of June.
