Sungrow intends to raise RMB 4 billion for new energy bases: Solar inverter and PV mounting equipment supplier Sungrow said in an announcement that it planned to raise RMB 4 billion ($0.62 billion) for the annual production of 100 GW of new energy power generation equipment manufacturing base projects. Qingdao to invest RMB 183 million in construction of PV R&D center: Wire saw machine producer Qingdao Gaoce Technology announced that to upgrade the large silicon wafer cutting technology in the photovoltaic industry, the company plans to invest in the construction of a photovoltaic large silicon wafer R&D center and an intelligent manufacturing demonstration base project in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. The total investment is estimated to be RMB 183 million.
Trina Solar leads the ranking list of contracted overseas power projects in 2020: Trina Solar Co., Ltd. ranks first in the recently released 2020 Ranking of Enterprises with Contracted Value of Overseas Power Projects by the China Chamber of Commerce of Machinery and Electronic Technology. Trina had 24 projects to its name with a contract value of RMB 5,369 million ($ 829 million). The company could achieve this ranking because in 2020, its overseas business had significant breakthroughs and had signed several heavyweight projects. Tongwei signs cooperation agreement with China Power Institute: The signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation framework agreement between silicon and solar cell maker Tongwei New Energy Co., Ltd. and China Power Construction Group Chengdu Survey and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. successfully took place at Tongwei International Center, the company said in a release. Both the parties discussed in depth the future development and planning of the Institute. This partnership is expected to promote photovoltaic power generation projects across the country.
Qianyuan Power to invest RMB 400 million in agricultural PV station at Qinglong: Recently Guizhou Qianyuan Electric Power Co., Ltd. issued an announcement stating that it has signed a framework agreement with Qinglong County People's Government to construct an Agricultural Photovoltaic Power Plant Power Generation Project with 100 MW capacity. The estimated investment is expected to be about RMB 400 million ($62 million) and the project will be spread across 2,000 acres of land.
