Sungrow to supply PV inverter solutions for 200 MW project in Egypt: In an announcement, Chinese solar PV inverter supplier Sungrow said it has signed an inverter supply contract for the 200 MW Kom Ombo project in Egypt, following the sealing of the EPC agreement between ACWA Power and the EPC contractor Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited. Recently, led by EBRD, several banks have agreed on financing the project (see 200 MW Egypt PV Plant Receives $114 Mn Financing).

Tongwei announces latest solar cell pricing: Solar cell manufacturer Tongwei released its latest solar cell pricing data. Compared to its April quotes (see China PV News Snippets: LONGi, Tongwei, Energy China, Ancai), the price of:

  • 157 diamond wire poly cell has increased by RMB 0.03 to RMB 0.76 /W ($0.0047 to $0.12/W)
  • 158.75 mono PERC cell remains unchanged at RMB 0.96/W ($0.15/W)
  • 166 mono PERC cell has risen by RMB 0.03 to RMB 0.92/W ($0.0047 to $0.14/W) and
  • 210 mono PERC cell has risen from RMB 0.02 to RMB 0.92 /W ($0.0031 to $0.14/W)

Jolywood subsidiaries partner with Shanghai Yuanye: Bifacial solar cell and module manufacturer Jolywood announced that the company’s holding subsidiary, Zoomlight, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jolywood Zhilian Energy Engineering have signed the Household Photovoltaic Power Generation Project EPC General Contract Agreement with Shanghai Yuanye New Energy. As per the agreement, Zoomlight and Jolywood Zhilian will provide Shanghai Yuanye with rooftop solar EPC project general contracting services. The project cooperation is for five years. Last month, Jolywood had announced its plans to launch a company to produce solar cells and modules with 1 GW annual capacity each in Indonesia (see Jolywood To Produce Solar Cells & Modules In Indonesia)

PowerChina signs 200 MW PV agreement with Jianghua: Chinese engineering services provider PowerChina has signed a 200 MW PV project investment agreement with Jianghua County, Hunan Province, a Photovoltaic Network News report said. The project will be spread across 5,000 acres and will have an investment value of RMB 800 million ($124.78 million). The planned investment for 2021 scale is 100 MW.
