
Sichuan Yongxiang 45,000 tons silicon production line to be put into operation soon: The second phase of the production of Sichuan Yongxiang New Energy's 45,000 tons of high-purity crystalline silicon is under construction, a Photovoltaic Network News report said. Spread across 600 acres, the investment for the second phase is RMB 3.65 billion ($0.57 billion). The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by October this year, and is supposed to reach its production capacity by the end of the year.
Shuangliang and Tongwei sign silicon equipment supply contract: In an announcement, Shuangliang Eco-Energy said that the company has signed a contract with polysilicon maker Inner Mongolia Tongwei High Purity Crystal Silicon Co., Ltd for the supply of production equipment for the Tongwei's high-purity crystalline silicon fab. The value of the contract is RMB 77.4 million ($12 million). The delivery has to be done by October.
