Huansheng Solar’s subsidiary Huansheng New Energy has announced the start of production at the first phase of its 10 GW high-efficiency solar module smart factory in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. Being developed in 2 phases of 5 GW each, the company is investing a total of RMB 4.566 billion ($629.68 million) in this facility. Phase 1 is set to produce G12-68PN, G12+-66P-N, and G10-74P-N n-type bifacial double-glass modules. The second phase is expected to be completed by October 2025. Huansheng Solar was established in 2015 as a joint venture between TCL TZE and Maxeon.
Huansheng Solar recently obtained a supply chain traceability capability report (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Perovskite solar cell maker Yanhe Solar has signed an investment agreement with Changde City, Hunan Province, to establish a new perovskite material production base with a total investment of approximately RMB 1 billion ($137.91 million). Founded in 2024, Yanhe Solar is said to have secured angel funding in the tens of millions from Zhaoxi Capital. The company claims breakthroughs in dry-process perovskite cell production with high repeatability and uniformity, achieving certified efficiencies of 18.17% for its 300 x 400 mm semi-transparent flexible modules and 24.1% for small-area flexible devices. Yanhe Solar says it has already completed a 10 MW perovskite cell production line and has received pre-orders worth nearly RMB 10 million ($1.379 million).
