TaiyangNews annual flagship event on Dec 13/14 & 19/20: Part-1 of TaiyangNews annual flagship event – a Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies – Today, Tomorrow and Beyond – starts tomorrow, December 13.

The Conference will begin with a Welcome Note from Michael Schmela, Managing Director TaiyangNews. This will be followed by presentations from Youru Tan from Bloomberg NEF; Oscar Zhang from JinkoSolar; Jerry Sun from JA Solar; Xuanyi Shi from Astronergy; Victor M. Rada from Runergy; Mike Guo from DKEM; Boachen LIAO from Leadmicro; Hou Hongbing from Hangzhou First.

The Conference will end with a Fire Chat between Shravan Chunduri, Head of Technology at TaiyangNews, and Oscar Zhang, Deputy General Manager of R&D at JinkoSolar.

Sponsored by LONGi, AIKO, JinkoSolar, Trina Solar, Astronergy, JA Solar, Huasun, Risen, TW Solar, ATW, DKEM, DA Solar, Hangzhou First, Jolywood, Solamet, Cybrid, Leadmicro, Maxwell, Runergy, SolarSpace, this 2-day event on December 13/14 will center on TOPCon and HJT. Leading PV manufacturers, material suppliers and equipment makers will share the latest updates on each of these cutting-edge technologies.

Aiko Solar to order equipment from Zhuhai Max: PV cell manufacturer Aiko Solar has announced that it plans to sign an equipment order worth RMB 237.72 million ($33.1 million) with Zhuhai Max. The company said that this order will help it meet the production needs of new ABC cells and accelerate the construction of the 15 GW high-efficiency solar cell project in Yiwu, Zhejiang. As part of the signing, the company plans to purchase a total of 36 sets of photovoltaic cell production equipment from Zhuhai Max.

Huasun gets TÜV SÜD witness laboratory qualification: Solar panel manufacturer Huasun has announced that its Reliability Testing Laboratory has received the TMP Witness Laboratory Qualification Certificate from TÜV SÜD. The company has invested RMB 15 million in the 2,000 sq. m. laboratory that is equipped with transient simulators, steady-state simulators, mechanical load testers and various environmental test chambers. The company says that the lab can independently conduct dozens of heterojunction (HJT) product reliability testing projects. The tests conducted at the laboratory are in compliance with PV industry standards such as IEC61215 and IEC61730. Last month, Huasun announced the successful completion of its Series C funding round, over RMB 2 billion ($275.9 million) (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Joint initiative on promoting the standard design and application of 700 W+ modules: 6 notable solar manufacturers have come together to jointly promote the standardization of 700 W+ module size and applications. The companies that are part of the initiative are: Astronergy, Canadian Solar, Risen, TCL Zhonghuan, Tongwei (TW Solar) and Trina Solar. The initiative proposes that the design of 700 W+ solar modules by each unit should maintain the existing standards for outer dimensions and installation hole technical specifications (outer dimensions of 2384 mm × 1303 mm, with long-side installation hole distances of 400 mm and 1400 mm) while introducing additional hole positions at 790 mm. Similarly, in August this year, 6 solar PV manufacturers announced an agreement involving the use of a standardized silicon wafer size of 191.X mm (see Silicon Wafer Size Standardization Update).

DAS Solar's TOPCon 4.0 cells achieve 735 mV VOC: PV cell and module supplier DAS Solar has announced that the open-circuit voltage (VOC) of its n-type TOPCon high-efficiency cells has achieved 735 mV. The company says that this has been certified by the National Photovoltaic Industry Measurement and Testing Center (NPVM). Note that this figure surpasses the company's previous record of 730 mV set in May of this year.

Trina Solar promotes green, low carbon and sustainable development at COP28: At COP28 in Dubai, Trina Solar has put its weight behind technological innovation and global collaboration to drive the worldwide transition to clean energy. With a focus on green, low-carbon, and sustainable development, the company showcased its advanced 210 mm technology platform and n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology, with 700 W+ capabilities. The company said that its products are utilized in various applications, supporting environmental sustainability. Its entire 210 mm Vertex module lineup is certified by TÜV Rheinland for life cycle assessment and product carbon footprint. The company is part of collaborations globally, particularly in the Middle East, which contribute to local green transitions. Notably, Trina Solar has supplied its Vertex modules to the 2 GW AI Dhafra Solar PV project in Abu Dhabi. The company says that it continues to work towards a net-zero future, partnering with the World Wildlife Fund and gaining recognition as a Decarbonization Leader.
