Tongwei Solar's cumulative cell shipments over 200 GW: Tongwei Solar has announced that its cumulative global cell shipments have exceeded 200 GW as of the end of 2023, according to data released by China's State Council Information Office. The company's exports span 30 countries and 5 continents and it claims to have a 15% share of the global market. The company also says it ranks 1st in the world for cell shipments for 6 consecutive years, according to data from InfoLink.

Recently, Tongwei Solar announced that its 182-72 version TNC module had achieved a module front power record of 607.4 W (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

S.C New Energy terminates convertible bond issuance: S.C New Energy has announced that it has withdrawn its August 18, 2023 application for a RMB 880 million ($111.4 million) convertible bond issuance. As a result, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's review of the company's refinancing has also been abandoned.

In November 2023, S.C New Energy Technology Corporation introduced 4 turnkey solutions and a variety of standalone devices at a product launch event (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Mubang Hi-Tech to invest in n-type cells & wafers fab: Mubang Hi-Tech has signed an investment agreement with Shizishan High-tech Zone and Tongling High-tech Development Investment Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, the company will invest RMB 7 billion ($974.6 million) to construct a production base with an annual output of 10 GW each of n-type high-efficiency cells and wafers. The 1st phase will involve building a production line with 5 GW capacity each for cells and wafers. The plan for the second phase, the construction for which will start once the 1st phase is operational, is to double the capacity of the facility.

Shandong Province announces multiple PV power generation and manufacturing projects: The People's Government of Shandong Province has unveiled a list of major projects for 2024. The list consists of 11 PV power generation projects with a combined capacity of about 6 GW, along with 6 PV manufacturing projects were unveiled. Aiko Solar's high-efficiency solar cell & module fab and Guosheng Energy's 5 GW high-efficiency HJT cell fab are the prominent names on the list.

Juhua Group receives approval for 100,000-ton polysilicon fab: Juhua Group has announced that it has received environmental impact assessment approval from the Gansu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment for its 100,000-ton polysilicon fab. The facility, located in Yumen, Jiuqua City, involves a total investment of RMB 41.047 billion ($5.72 billion). It will be operated by Juhua Group's wholly-owned subsidiary Gansu Juhua New Materials Co., Ltd, and is expected to produce 360,000 tons of industrial silicon and 100,000 tons of polysilicon annually.

Qingdian Changxin 13.2 GW n-type PV cell fab rolls out 1st cell: Qingdian Changxin has announced the 1st production line of its 13.2 GW high-efficiency n-type PV cell facility has started mass production. The company has invested a total of RMB 12 billion ($1.67 billion) in the facility that spans about 850 acres. The conversion efficiency of the TOPCon cells produced from this assembly line is said to be over 25%.
