Cybrid was among the 10 companies that proposed to establish the Sichuan Silicon Photovoltaic Industry Innovation Center in Leshan City in February this year (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

S.C New Energy ships large-sized perovskite coating equipment: Production equipment manufacturer S.C New Energy has announced that it has successfully shipped large-sized perovskite coating equipment to its customers. The coating equipment is a key part of the equipment used for the production of perovskite solar cells. This equipment will be part of the customers' R&D pilot line, aiding in the industrialization of perovskite cells. The company says that it is suitable for preparation processes such as perovskite layer/perovskite functional layer/perovskite passivation layer. It adopts a constant temperature and humidity control system and a high-precision detection and protection system, which can realize automatic series and parallel connections to achieve the entire line penetration function. Its liquid circuit system has automatic fluid replacement and online cleaning functions. It is also aided by software that helps achieve high-precision control of ACS.

Astronergy wins CHD's module bid: Astronergy has announced that it has been shortlisted as a winning bidder for the 8 GW module procurement auction by China Huadian Corporation (CHD). As one of the 3 winning candidates in the 1st batch, Astronergy will supply 1.5 GW of n-type modules to CHD.

Last month, Astronergy announced the rollout of the 1st silicon wafer from its Thailand base (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Canadian Solar wins bid for 193 MW BESS project in Japan: Canadian Solar has announced that it has won a bid for 3 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in the first Long-Term Decarbonization Auction (LTDA) in Japan, with a total capacity of 193 MW. The winners of this auction were announced on April 26, 2024. Canadian Solar won 13.3% of the total bid BESS projects. The 3 projects are located in Aomori Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture, and Yamaguchi Prefecture, respectively. They are expected to be commercially operational between 2027 and 2028 and will use the latest SolBank 3.0 system launched by Canadian Solar's energy storage subsidiary, e-STORAGE, to provide energy storage solutions for local power supply.

Tianjiao New Energy starts construction of perovskite solar cell pilot line: Tianjiao New Energy has announced that it has commenced construction on its perovskite thin-film solar cell pilot line in Fengxi New City, Shaanxi Province. With an of RMB 100 million ($13.84 million), the pilot line will mainly focus on the research, pilot, and preparation of perovskite solar cells. Tianjiao New Energy was established in 2023 by professors from Xi'an Jiaotong University and their research team. In January 2024, Tianjiao New Energy announced that its large-size perovskite PV module had achieved a conversion efficiency of 22.35%, certified by the PV Testing Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
