TrinaTracker's smart upgrades enhance solar power plant efficiency: TrinaTracker, the tracker-making arm of Trinasolar, has upgraded a photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Shandong province. The plant's electronic control system, said to be facing efficiency issues due to aging technology, was upgraded with its TCUs and NCUs, resolving communication barriers and enhancing security. The new system uses the company's SuperTrack smart algorithms to optimize tracker angles and mitigate weather risks. Trina Smart Cloud was integrated for real-time monitoring and fault detection. TrinaTracker says that this comprehensive upgrade improved operational efficiency and power generation potential.

S.C New Energy ships large-size perovskite VCD series equipment: S.C New Energy has announced that it has successfully shipped its proprietary VCD series large-size perovskite equipment. This flash evaporation furnace covers a variety of sizes such as square meters, pilot and laboratory. It is said to be suitable for the vacuum flash drying process of perovskite, which can achieve rapid and uniform evaporation of solvents, and increase the area of the crystal block in addition to ensuring the density and uniformity of the film. This recent shipment follows its earlier delivery of large-scale perovskite coating equipment (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

RenShine Solar to build GW-class perovskite PV cell fab in Changshu: Perovskite cell developer RenShine Solar has announced that it has signed an agreement to build its GW-class perovskite cell fab in the Changshu Economic and Technological Development Zone. The company plans to invest more than RMB 1 billion ($137.9 million) in this facility. Once complete, it is expected to generate more than RMB 2 billion ($275.9 million) in annual revenues.

RenShine recently announced that its all-perovskite tandem cell has achieved a steady-state conversion efficiency of up to 30.1% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

AIKO Solar signs strategic cooperation agreement with Yuexiu Capital: Solar cell and module manufacturer AIKO Solar and Yuexiu Capital have announced that they have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Both parties will bring their respective industrial and financial resources to the table to cooperate in the field of household photovoltaics. The companies also plan to actively explore opportunities in the fields of industrial and commercial photovoltaics, energy storage, etc. The agreement is expected to strengthen their ties financially while focusing on high-growth and innovative investment projects in the new energy industry.

AIKO Solar replaced its top module in the TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules listing with another module featuring a higher commercial module efficiency of 24.2% (see Top Solar Modules Listing – May 2024).

Dongjian Digital Energy to build 1.1 GW perovskite HJT tandem cell fab: Information released by the Investment Promotion Bureau of Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, has revealed Dongjian Digital Energy's plan to build a production line for perovskite heterojunction (HJT) tandem cells. It will be built for a total investment of approximately RMB 5 billion ($705 million) and will be implemented in phases. The first phase, with an investment of RMB 3 billion ($423 million), will include a 100 MW perovskite HJT tandem cell pilot line, a 1 GW perovskite HJT tandem cell mass production line, and a 3 GWh sodium battery cell and pack/integration line. The project has completed preliminary investigations, and the investment agreement is currently being finalized.
