Risen Energy and MTR Solar partner for 1 GW HJT modules: Chinese solar panel maker, Risen Energy, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MTR Solar, a Brazilian photovoltaic company to supply 1 GW HJT modules. Over the next 12 months, Risen will deliver approximately 1.4 million 700Wp+ HJT modules. The modules will be used to towards the construction of 1 MW to 5 MW distributed solar projects.   Meanwhile, few days back Risen HJT Hyper-ion module had hit 767.38 W power & 24.70% efficiency (see China Solar PV Snippets)

EcoVadis silver medal for JA Solar: Solar PV panel manufacturer, JA Solar, announced receiving a score of 62 in the global corporate social responsibility assessment by EcoVadis. This was the company's highest score till date and entitled it to win the EcoVadis Silver Medal for Sustainability. In the environmental category too, the company performed very well with a high score of 80. Its aim is to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 42% within its operational scope by 2030 compared to 2023 levels; and to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. China Huadian's subsidiary signs sales intent deal: China Huadian said in an announcement that its Inner Mongolia subsidiary has signed a sales intent deal with eight companies for about 130 million cubic meters of hydrogen. This is for its 600 MW wind-solar hydrogen production plant in Alxa League. With an investment of RMB 3.24 billion ($446.3 million), the construction of the plant will begin in June 2024, and production in December 2025. The plant will include a 45,000 Nm³/h hydrogen production device, transmission lines, and hydrogen storage and transportation facilities. On completion, the plant will generate 1.4 billion kWh of electricity annually and will produce 83,000 tons of green ammonia and 3,000 tons of green hydrogen per year.

Manst wins bid to develop GW-level perovskite coating system: Advanced coating technology solution provider, Shenzhen Manst, announced that it has won the bid to develop GW-level perovskite coating system. The GW-level mass production flat-panel coating system will have a coating width of 2.4 m, a component size of 2.88 m2, a film thickness uniformity of ≤5%, a fast-coating cycle, and small edge removal, the company added.

UtmoLight ships MW-class perovskite commercial modules: Chinese perovskite manufacturer, Wuxi UtmoLight, announced that its MW-level perovskite commercial modules have completed various quality inspections and been smoothly shipped to State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC). This is another step by the company in its perovskite commercialization strategy. In December 2023, UtmoLight large-size perovskite modules had achieved 19.5% steady-state efficiency (see China PV News Snippets)

Land approval for Kaili's 7.5 GW TOPCon factory: Green energy solutions provider Yingli Solar and clean energy developer Nyocor's joint venture, Kaili New Energy, announced that the Suichang County government has issued a land approval for its 7.5 GW n-type TOPCon solar cell facility. The agreement to build this facility was signed in November 2023 among Nyocor, Yingli Solar, and the Suichang County government, for an investment of RMB 6 billion ($826.49 million).

GCL Si 0BB module factory goes into production: Leading one-stop smart integrated energy system integrator, GCL System Integration Technology, said that its Hefei module factory that will mass-produce 0BB modules has been put into production. This production line is combined with Lotus anti-dust module technology, that is expected to further enhance product competitiveness, the company added. Last month GCL Si has said that it expects to launch GPC cell products in Q4 2024 (see China PV News Snippets)

HY Solar to build 16 GW solar cell manufacturing fab: PV equipment manufacturing and new energy power station construction company HY Solar's plans to build a 16 GW high-efficiency solar cell factory in Baotou was mentioned in the environmental impact assessment document released by the Ecology and Environment Bureau. With an investment of RMB 8.10 billion ($1.12 billion), the factory will produce 210×210mm TOPCon BC (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) solar cells. The construction is expected to begin in December 2024 and will complete by December the next year.
