Astronergy part of the world's first solar-powered vehicle to grid system: PV module manufacturer Astronergy has supplied 75 n-type TOPCon PV modules to Qilian Mountain National Park to support the completion of the world's first PV self-consumption system with a V2G charger. Clean Parks is an ecosystem co-construction initiative advocated by NIO to support more nature reserves across the world in adopting smart electric vehicles (EVs). With the support of ASTRO N TOPCon PV modules from Astronergy, Qilian Mountain National Park could have an annual average clean power generation of about 670,000 kWh, which could cater to 100% of EV usage within the protected area, while simultaneously powering 50% of other needs.
Trina Solar starts mass production of Vertex N-type 700 W+ modules: Leading vertically integrated module manufacturer Trina Solar announced that it has commenced mass production of its Vertex n-type 700 W+ modules at its Qinghai Integrated Base. The company said that it is the first module manufacturer in the industry to achieve it with TOPCon modules exceeding 700 W, and has done so ahead of schedule. Trina Solar has also pre-released the upgraded products for 2024, with its large-scale modules reaching 710 W, and the medium-sized modules reaching 620 W. Trina Solar recently commenced construction of a 50 GW facility in Huai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Fusion Materials H1 2023 shipments and profits increase: Solar metallization supplier Fusion Materials reported that its operating income increased 23.56% YoY to RMB 4.181 billion ($572.9 million) for the 1st half of 2023. Its net profit increased 24.71% YoY to RMB 269 million ($36.9 million) during the same period. During H1 2023, the company's front-side silver paste shipments increased 23% YoY to 844 tons. As of June 30, the company's gross profit margin was 10.18%, down 1.25 percentage points from the same period last year.
Cutting wire maker Metron New Materials reports H1 2023 financial results: Electroplated diamond wire manufacturer Metron New Materials reported operating income of RMB 2.168 billion ($297 million) for the 1st half of 2023, an increase of 40.96% YoY. Its net profit of RMB 893 million ($122 million) was an increase of 33.99% YoY. During the reporting period, the company sold 57.9608 million KM of diamond wire (including 5.3277 million KM of tungsten wire), which was an increase of 45.02% YoY.
