DMEGC Solar modules for Jiangsu fishery-PV complementary project

Vertically integrated solar module manufacturer DMEGC Solar has announced that it is supplying 940 MW of high-efficiency n-type 630 W modules for a fishery-PV Complementary project in Jiangsu, China, set to be grid-connected by October. The project is expected to generate 1.609 billion kWh annually, reducing coal consumption by 496,400 tons and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 1.2374 million tons. This initiative enhances local fishery operations, promotes industrial growth, and boosts local incomes, demonstrating the economic and environmental potential of sustainable energy projects. DMEGC Solar, a global Tier 1 solar manufacturer, continues to lead in the photovoltaic industry with its reliable products and solutions.

Late last month, DMEGC Solar announced that it will inject RMB 799 million ($108.57 million) into its wholly-owned subsidiary Dongshang New Energy (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

S.C New Energy H1 2024 net profit up over 63%

Solar manufacturing equipment supplier Shenzhen S.C has released its financial results for the first half of 2024. The company reported revenues of RMB 6.62 billion ($923 million), up 62.19% Year-over-Year (YoY), while its net profits were up 63.15% to RMB 1.23 billion ($171 million). On the operational front, the company said that the average HJT cell conversion efficiency at its pilot line reached 25.6% (ISFH standard) during the period, while also achieving mass production of its large-chamber RF dual-sided microcrystalline technology. As of the end of June, the company’s inventory net value stood at RMB 21.64 billion ($3.02 billion), with 91.02% comprising goods shipped but not yet accepted. It cautioned that in case of downstream customers failing to accept these deliveries, it may face backlog/depreciation risks.

In July, the company had projected its H1 2024 net profits to range from RMB 1,164.86 million ($160.27 million) to RMB 1,352.74 million ($186.04 million) (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

SC-SOLAR gets RMB 280M capital infusion from J.S.Machine

Solar module manufacturing equipment supplier SC-SOLAR has announced that it has received a capital infusion of RMB 280 million ($39.26 million) from its parent J.S.Machine. This infusion increases SC-SOLAR’s registered capital from RMB 458 million ($64.21 million) to RMB 738 million ($103.47 million), with J.S.Machine retaining 100% ownership. SC-SOLAR simultaneously announced its H1 2024 financial results. The company reported revenues of RMB 3.11 billion ($436.04 million) for the period, which was up 15.47% YoY, and a net profit of RMB 253 million ($35.47 million).

CHD starts construction on world's highest altitude solar-storage project

State-owned power generation enterprise China Huadian (CHD) has commenced construction on Phase 2 of its solar-storage project in Tibet, dubbed the world's highest-altitude solar-storage project. Located between altitudes of 5,046 to 5,228 meters, the Cipeng solar-storage project phase 2 involves a total investment of RMB 666 million ($93 million) and includes a 100 MW photovoltaic installation comprising 166,760 solar modules, paired with a 20 MW / 80 MWh grid-forming energy storage system. The storage system is said to be able to provide 80,000 kWh of electricity for 4 consecutive hours at night. The project is expected to be fully operational by the end of October 2024, and is expected to generate 155 million kWh of clean energy annually.

JinenU Solar to set up manufacturing base in Indonesia

JinenU Solar has announced its plans to set up a manufacturing base in Indonesia, which will be its 1st production site overseas and its 7th overall. The company made this announcement at an event attended by representatives from Chinese and Indonesian PV industry for the signing of Suntech- JinenU Solar Overseas Indonesia Photovoltaic Materials Ecosystem Cooperation. During the event, Dao De Investment (a China’s private equity fund company), Suntech Power, and JinenU Solar, along with several Chinese PV industry companies, signed a cooperation agreement with Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB). JinenU’s Indonesian production base, along with 6 other planned production sites, is expected to add 30 GW of new solar module capacity to its current 20 GW production capacity in China.
