JA Solar's Yangzhou base achieves 4-Star Zero-Carbon Factory certification
JA Solar has announced that its Jing Shan Park manufacturing base, located in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, has received a 4-Star Zero-Carbon Factory Certification from TÜV SÜD. The factory passed the audit conducted by TÜV SÜD based on the Chinese Energy Conservation Association standard T/CECA-G 0171-2022 "Evaluation Specification for Zero-Carbon Factories," to be certified as a Type I zero-carbon factory. The company plans to build fully recyclable green products by 2030 and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
JA Solar recently received the IEC TS 62994:2019 Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Risk Assessment Certificate from TÜV SÜD (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
GCL Smart Energy to set up global R&D headquarters in Wujiang, Suzhou
At a conference held by Suzhou City to promote AI+ innovation and development pilot zone, GCL and the local government of Wujiang signed a contract to set up the GCL Smart Energy Global R&D Headquarters in the city. The R&D center will promote innovation in new energy technologies and other fields to develop differentiated and competitive products for the industry. The R&D center will also serve as a pilot base for new products.

Liyuan New Energy to build 100 MW perovskite solar cell pilot line
Perovskite manufacturer Liyuan New Energy has announced its plans to build a 100 MW perovskite solar cell factory in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province. The first phase will involve a RMB 200 million ($28.36 million) investment to build a 1,200 × 600 mm pilot line that is expected to become operational by the end of this year, followed by a GW production line planned for 2026. In 2016, the company collaborated with a research team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University to develop a 36 cm2 perovskite solar cell and an energy conversion efficiency of 12.1%, which was certified by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) of Japan.
Mibet New Energy and Silvery Dragon to jointly develop new FPV system
Offshore floating photovoltaic (OFPV) systems manufacturer Mibet New Energy has announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with a subsidiary of Silvery Dragon Shares, a pre-stressed steel producer. The 2 companies have agreed to cooperate on 3 projects: (1) jointly develop an anti-dust floating PV (FPV) system based on the mechanical characteristics of large-scale floating objects under the action of wind, waves, and currents; (2) develop a pre-stressed steel platform OFPV system based on the concept of windproof PV pre-stressed system, which will have the characteristics of both rigidity and flexibility and improve its ability to resist risks; (3) develop an amphibious ecological PV system, which enables the floating body to have both ground piles in the dry season and float on the water in the rainy season, and utilize the shading effect of solar modules to control Spartina alterniflora, an invasive plant species extremely harmful to the ocean.
Huawei and Lianfa Group to cooperate on multiple projects
Technology multinational Huawei has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with real estate developer Lianfa Group. The 2 companies have agreed to comprehensively cooperate in the fields of smart communities, artificial intelligence, and new energy, among others. Specific to new energy, the 2 companies will jointly build green and low-carbon industrial parks and commercial demonstration benchmarks, based on Huawei's integrated solar storage and charging solutions. In the field of smart charging networks, Huawei will cooperate deeply with Lianfa Group in the construction of charging infrastructure in parking lots of residential communities, commercial complexes, and industrial parks.
Recently, a solar-powered charging station for EVs in the Everest National Park was launched, involving Huawei's liquid-cooled technology and powered by AIKO’s ABC modules (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
