JinkoSolar delivers ESS products to multiple projects in China: JinkoSolar has delivered 100 MWh of its SunTera G2 energy storage system (ESS) to an independent grid-side energy storage station in Southwest China, set to begin operations in 2025. The company says the SunTera system features high safety, long service life, and robust integration for harsh climates. JinkoSolar also installed a 20 MWh SunTera liquid-cooling energy storage system at Baizhang wind farm in Guangxi, showcasing advanced cooling technology, increased energy density, and reduced costs. Additionally, JinkoSolar provided 13 SunGiga C&I energy storage systems to Huimei Textile Co., Ltd. in Sichuan, marking the first grid-connected C&I BESS project in Yibin, known for its efficient and safe design.

JinkoSolar was recently recognized by BloombergNEF as a Tier 1 manufacturer on its BNEF Energy Storage Tier 1 List 3Q 2024 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Akcome’s restructuring plans: HJT cell and module manufacturer Akcome announced plans to initiate restructuring after a special meeting with its creditors. The company, facing a financial crunch, aims to restore normal operations and profitability through asset restructuring and debt repayment measures. Akcome reported a net loss of RMB 826 million ($113.88 million) for 2023, on revenues of RMB 4.552 billion ($627.27 million). 2023 marking was its third consecutive year of reporting net losses. On June 22, Akcome announced that in addition to disclosed litigation and arbitration matters, the company and its subsidiaries faced 36 litigation and arbitration cases totaling RMB 760.33 million ($104.77 million) within 12 months. On the same day, Akcome received a delisting notice from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange due to its stock price remaining below RMB 1 for 20 consecutive trading days (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

3.5 GW hydro-PV hybrid project approved: A 3.5 GW hydro-PV hybrid project at the national hydro-wind-solar integration demonstration base in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River in Sichuan and Tibet has received approval. The project consists of 3 sub-projects: a 1.6 GW project in Baiyu County, Ganzi Prefecture; a 700 MW project in Lhorong County, Dege County; and a 1.2 GW project in Zhongzan, Batang County. The Baiyu County project is said to be the largest solar PV project in Sichuan Province and the world's second-largest hydro-PV hybrid project. Once completed, these projects will rely on the cascade hydropower of the upper Jinsha River in the Sichuan-Tibet region for regulatory support, achieving hydro-PV complementarity.

ZY Solar promotes 5 GW module and HJT cell production base: Hesheng Investment, the controlling shareholder of ZY Solar’s holding company Zhengye Technology, has announced its plans to invest about green bond funds worth RMB 88 million ($12.12 million) in ZY Solar. These funds will support ZY Solar’s business development, PV project construction funding needs, and reduce financing costs. In particular, it intends to use the funds for the 5 GW PV module and HJT cell production base investment project (Phase I). The bond funding will be on an unsecured basis, will command no interest for a term not exceeding 5 years, with the principal to be repaid by ZY Solar.

Agnano delivers local silver-coated copper slurry to Huasun: Agnano, the core slurry supplier of Huasun, has sent its first silver-coated copper slurry shipment from Xuancheng, Anhui. The use of silver-coated copper helps Huasun's efforts in HJT to reduce costs, improve efficiency. Agnano says that this shipment deepens the cooperation between the 2 companies while providing a strong impetus to the development of Xuancheng's local heterojunction industry.
