JTPV to present at TaiyangNews Distributed & Smart Solar Virtual Conference on July 29, 2025

TaiyangNews has organized a Virtual Conference on Distributed & Smart Solar to explore the latest innovations, business models, and policy frameworks shaping the future of solar in the residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) sectors.

Dr. Xinrui An, R&D Manager at Jietai Solar (JTPV), will present on the topic Unlocking BOS Cost Reduction in Distributed Projects with High-Efficiency Solar Cell Technology at the conference.

The conference, which will also feature presentations from EUPD, LCP Delta, SolarPower Europe, AIKO, and Sigenergy, will take place on Monday, July 29, 2025, from 09:30 to 12:30 CEST. Register for free here.

China approves first cross-provincial green power direct supply project

The Carbon Reduction and Green Enhancement Project by SPIC Aluminum and Electricity Co., slated to be China’s first cross-provincial green electricity direct supply project, has been officially approved. The project is a collaboration between the Inner Mongolia and Ningxia regions. According to the Inner Mongolia Energy Bureau, the renewable energy site will be located in Alxa, Inner Mongolia, with a planned installed capacity of 3 GW. It will supply clean electricity via dedicated transmission lines to 2 aluminum plants located in Ningxia. The project introduces an innovative ‘point-to-point’ short-distance cross-provincial clean energy supply model. It aims to enable complementary resource utilization between provinces and offer a new template for inter-provincial renewable energy delivery in China.

Recently, China commissioned its first direct green power supply project for data centers (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Huasun’s HJT modules outperform expectations in field operation

A subsidiary of China Huaneng has released an operational report on its 71.03 MW solar PV project in Dali City, Yunnan Province. The project, which was connected to the grid in May 2023, utilizes Huasun's Himalaya series heterojunction (HJT) modules, a leading HJT manufacturer. According to the report, the project generated approximately 95.97 million kWh of electricity in 2024, exceeding the originally designed output by 2.85%. Huasun attributes this outperformance to the multiple advantages of its HJT modules, such as high bifaciality, superior low-light response, and a low temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C.

In an exclusive interview during the TaiyangNews SNEC Solar Leadership Conversations 2025 at SNEC 2025, Huasun Energy Chairman and CEO Jimmy Xu shared some insights into the company’s strategic direction and technology roadmap (see SNEC 2025 Exclusive: Interview With Huasun Energy Chairman & CEO Jimmy Xu).

Shuangliang Eco-Energy narrows losses in H1 2025

In its financial results forecast for the first half of 2025, solar wafer and module manufacturer Shuangliang Eco-Energy estimates its net loss attributable to shareholders to range between RMB 500 million ($69.44 million) and RMB 650 million ($90.28 million) for the reporting period. This would be an improvement from the RMB 1.257 billion ($174.58 million) loss reported for the same period last year. Management noted that although China's PV sector experienced strong short-term demand in the H1 2025 due to policy factors, continued price declines across the industry value chain since Q2 have reduced profitability in the company’s monocrystalline silicon business. While the overall loss narrowed, the company is yet to achieve profitability.

HY Solar’s losses narrow in H1 2025

Solar cell and module manufacturer HY Solar also reported a narrowing of losses in H1 2025. According to its interim earnings forecast, the company expects a net loss attributable to shareholders to be between RMB 290 million ($40.28 million) and RMB 350 million ($48.61 million). This represents a reduction of RMB 807 million ($112.08 million) to RMB 867 million ($120.42 million) compared to a loss of RMB 1.437 billion ($199.58 million) reported for the same period last year. The company stated that with the end of the installation rush in China and the seasonal downturn in Europe during Q2, PV product prices dropped significantly, impacting its core business segments. It added that inventory impairments also impacted its overall performance.
