Phenosolar launches perovskite substrate product

Perovskite manufacturer Phenosolar has launched PhenoGlass, which the company calls the ‘industry's first’ perovskite substrate product integrating a self-assembled monolayer (SAM). Based on float glass, the product incorporates multiple functional layers, including an anti-reflective coating, a transparent conductive layer, P1 scribing, NiOx hole transport layer, a SAM molecular layer, an interfacial modification layer, and an encapsulation film. The company says that these features enable downstream manufacturers to significantly simplify production processes and achieve large-area, high-uniformity perovskite solar cell fabrication.

Phenosolar stated that it has strong know-how of the key non-destructive upscaling process from 300 mm × 300 mm to 1200 mm × 600 mm and has already achieved mass production capability. The company also plans to release a 2.8 m² version tailored for gigawatt-scale production lines.

In March of this year, Phenosolar signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with a subsidiary of Grand Sunergy to focus on advancing perovskite and perovskite/silicon tandem cell technologies (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Youli Intelligent seeks funding for PV mounting structure component plant

Youli Intelligent, a manufacturer of solar PV mounting structure components, is raising funds to support the development of its manufacturing base. According to its prospectus, the company aims to raise RMB 2,699.015 million ($374.86 million) from unspecified investors to finance 3 major initiatives: the construction of a core PV mounting structure component manufacturing facility, a new R&D center, and an intelligent upgrading and expansion project. The core component manufacturing facility, located in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, will require a total investment of RMB 1,958.955 million ($272.91 million), with RMB 1,513.234 million ($210.17 million) to be covered by the raised funds.

Founded in 2017, Youli Intelligent specializes in the production of core components for PV mounting systems. It supplies torque tubes (TTU) and bearing housing assemblies (BHA) to leading PV tracker and mounting manufacturers, including Nextracker, Gonvarri Industries, Trinasolar, and Antai Solar. The company recorded revenues of RMB 433 million ($60.14 million), RMB 658 million ($91.39 million), and RMB 729 million ($101.25 million) from 2022 to 2024, respectively, with net profits attributable to the parent company reaching RMB 41.19 million ($5.72 million), RMB 78.17 million ($10.86 million), and RMB 90.05 million ($12.51 million) in the respective periods.

Arctech’s modules get IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certification

Solar tracker maker Arctech Solar has forayed into solar module manufacturing. The company has announced that several of its products, including lightweight modules, dual-glass modules, solar curtain walls, and solar ground tiles, have passed IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 tests, certified by TÜV NORD. Arctech highlighted that the certified lightweight modules offer advantages such as reduced weight, high mechanical load capacity, and low micro-crack risk. It claims these modules are 60% to 70% lighter than conventional ones, which makes them ideal for low-load-bearing rooftops. It added that the use of high-performance polymer frames provides corrosion resistance, which ensures long-term durability in humid coastal environments and industrial zones affected by acid rain.

According to a Wood Mackenzie report published in June, Artech Solar ranked 2nd in global solar tracker shipments, displacing US-based Array Technologies (see 2024 Global Solar Tracker Shipments Up 20% to 111 GW DC).

China sees 5.4% rise in newly-registered PV projects in June

According to the National Energy Administration (NEA), a total of 5,236 new utility-scale renewable energy projects (excluding residential PV) were registered in China in June 2025, representing a slight increase over May’s 4,917 projects. Solar PV accounted for 5,150 of the total, split into 119 utility-scale PV plants and 5,031 commercial and industrial (C&I) distributed PV projects, up 5.64% from 4,875 projects in May. The remaining projects included 55 wind power and 31 biomass power projects.

According to the New Energy Consumption Monitoring and Early Warning Center, China’s solar power utilization rate stood at 94.2% in May 2025 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
