AIKO to Present at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference

Residential and commercial solar are key pillars of the solar sector. In an era marked by geostrategic uncertainty, trade tensions, supply chain realignments, volatile energy prices, and shifting regulatory frameworks, energy resilience has become a central priority for households, businesses, and policymakers.

At the TaiyangNews Smarter Solar for Homes & Businesses Virtual Conference, Fabrice Chappaz, WEU Solution Manager at AIKO, will present on how the company’s ABC copper interconnection technology has become a new standard for high module performance and reliability.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 09:30 to 13:00 CET. Registrations are free and can be done here.

Wen Cloud and Xiaomai New Energy Apply AI in C&I PV Management

New energy digitalization platform Wen Cloud and zero-carbon solution provider Xiaomai New Energy have partnered to develop full-lifecycle management systems for commercial and industrial (C&I) distributed PV projects.

The system covers development management, smart operations and maintenance, asset operations, and supply chain coordination. It incorporates AI tools for project screening and risk assessment, contract review, investment analysis, and ongoing optimization based on project and fault data.

LONGi Completes PotisEdge Acquisition

Leading vertically integrated PV manufacturer LONGi has completed the acquisition of energy storage battery manufacturer PotisEdge, expanding its presence into the energy storage manufacturing segment.

According to PotisEdge’s website, it currently has an annual production capacity of 31 GWh, with products covering residential, C&I, and utility-scale applications.

LONGi had disclosed its intention to acquire PotisEdge in November 2025 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

CGN Commences Construction on 400 MW Agri-PV Project

China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) has started construction on a 400 MW solar PV project in Shucheng County, Anhui Province. It is part of a broader 2 GW renewable energy development with a total planned investment of RMB 8 billion.

Phase I of the project consists of 2 sub-projects, each 200 MW, and adopts a tea-solar agrivoltaic model that combines PV generation with tea cultivation to improve land utilization.

CGN New Energy, another CGN Group company, released the shortlist of candidates for its 9 GW 2026 annual solar inverter framework procurement last month (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

GCL New Energy Expects FY2025 Net Loss to Widen 400%

GCL Group’s solar power generation subsidiary, GCL New Energy, issued a profit warning indicating an expected net loss of about RMB 1.10 billion for FY2025, compared to a net loss of RMB 223 million in FY2024.

The company said the increase is mainly due to higher provisions for one-off compensations, including RMB 278 million in tax-related payments and RMB 326 million linked to the refund of electricity sales revenue from a previously divested PV project.
