GoodWe to Present at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference

Residential and commercial solar are key pillars of the solar sector. In an era marked by geostrategic uncertainty, trade tensions, supply chain realignments, volatile energy prices, and shifting regulatory frameworks, energy resilience has become a central priority for households, businesses, and policymakers.

At the TaiyangNews Smarter Solar for Homes & Businesses Virtual Conference, Jonas Ding, Technical Product Director, Europe, at GoodWe, will present on the topic, ‘Empowering Homes: Integrated Residential Energy Solutions for Autonomy, Resilience, and Smart Control’.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 09:30 to 13:00 CET. Registrations are free and can be done here.

CR Power Connects Nearly 7 GW of PV Projects in 2025

Releasing its financial results for FY2025, CR Power reported that it grid-connected 6,987 MW of new solar capacity (including 595 MW of distributed PV) in 2025, alongside 6,638 MW of wind capacity, bringing total renewable additions to 13,625 MW.

On the financial side, the company posted a turnover of HKD 102.01 billion, down slightly from HKD 105.28 billion in FY2024, while core business profit rose 9.9% year-on-year (YoY) to HKD 15.24 billion. By year-end 2025, its total equity grid-connected capacity reached 89,647 MW, including 15,335 MW of solar and 29,076 MW of wind.

Looking ahead, the company has set a conservative target of 5,450 MW of new wind and solar capacity additions for 2026.

POWERCHINA Commissions ‘World’s 1st’ Hydro-Solar-Pumped Storage Integrated Project

POWERCHINA has brought the Xiaojinchuan River Basin project in Sichuan to full-capacity grid connection, combining 160 MW of PV, 195 MW of hydropower, and a 16 MW/32 MWh energy storage system. Phase I of this project was grid-connected earlier this year (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

The project integrates cascading hydropower with solar and pumped storage, supported by the Chunchangba station, which uses a 5 MW variable-speed reversible unit. The company said the system addresses key technical challenges in multi-energy integration. The project was featured in the World Small Hydropower Development Report in June 2023, issued by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and was the only project selected from China among 12 typical global cases.

China Issues 107.62M Solar GECs in Jan-Feb

China issued 394.40 million green electricity certificates (GECs) in the first 2 months of 2026, including 107.62 million for solar and 170.13 million for wind, according to data released by the National Energy Administration (NEA).

A total of 177.54 million certificates were traded over the period, with solar accounting for 72.90 million and wind for 88.09 million. In February alone, 45.52 million GECs changed hands, with 2024-issued certificates (7.22 million) priced at an average of RMB 1.21 and 2025-issued certificates (38.31 million) priced at an average of RMB 5.90.

In its guidelines for a unified power market system, detailing the roadmap through 2035, the State Council of China calls for an expansion of the GEC system (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Beijing Energy Launches 4 GW PV Module Tender

Chinese energy developer Beijing Energy Holding has opened a 4 GW solar module procurement for projects planned in 2026, split evenly between 2 GW of TOPCon modules and 2 GW of back-contact (BC) modules.

The tender represents the largest single procurement for BC modules to date, exceeding China Datang’s 1 GW tender issued in 2025.
