SA8000 certification for 2 JA Solar manufacturing sites

Global integrated PV manufacturer JA Solar has received SA8000 Social Accountability Management System Certification for its manufacturing facilities in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, and Fengxian, Shanghai, awarded by international certification body TÜV Italia S.R.L. (part of TÜV SÜD Group).

Established in 1997 by Social Accountability International (SAI), SA8000 is the world’s first auditable international ethical standard.

JA Solar stated that obtaining SA8000 certification for both sites further enhances the company’s institutional framework in corporate social responsibility and significantly strengthens its overall performance under the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework.

On the financial side, the company recently reported a nearly 481% widening in its net loss for 9M 2025 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Janbon High Tech resubmits Hong Kong IPO application

Solar PV silver paste manufacturer Janbon High Tech has refiled its Hong Kong IPO application after its initial submission in May 2025 expired due to the 6-month validity limit (see China Solar PV News Snippets). According to the updated prospectus, the company reported revenues of RMB 2.83 billion from January to August 2025, a decline of 3.6% year-over-year. Silver paste sales fell from 456,310 kg in the same period of 2024 to 359,075 kg in 2025. The company’s net profit for the first 8 months was RMB 52.7 million, a 32.1% decrease from RMB 77.6 million last year, attributed mainly to overall margin compression and lower sales volumes.

While the new prospectus does not specify the amount it plans to raise, Janbon High Tech stated that the proceeds will be used to fund R&D in silver paste technology, upgrade production equipment, and construct a new plant in the Middle East. The facility, designed to produce about 1,500 tons of silver paste and other conductive materials annually, is in the planning stage with a total expected capital expenditure of RMB 200 million. Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-2026, with trial production by the end of 2027 and commercial operations by mid-2028.

As of August 2025, the company operates a single manufacturing site in Jinan, Shandong Province, with an annual capacity of 1,485 tons.

Solamet files patent infringement lawsuit against Gonda

PV silver paste producer Solamet has filed a lawsuit against Gonda Technology, alleging infringement of its invention patent No. 201180032359.1. Solamet’s parent company, DKEM, stated that Gonda has been manufacturing, selling, and offering to sell PV conductive silver paste products that fall within the scope of Solamet’s patented claims without authorization, constituting a serious violation of Solamet’s legitimate rights.

Solamet is seeking RMB 200 million in damages for economic losses and related expenses. The court has accepted the case, which is currently pending trial.

Hoymiles posts heavy Q3 loss

Microinverter manufacturer Hoymiles reported significant losses in its Q3 2025 financial results. For the quarter ending September, the company’s revenues declined 11.18% YoY to RMB 318.02 million. It reported an adjusted net loss of RMB 84.86 million, compared to a profit of RMB 47.24 million in the same period last year.

For the first 9 months of 2025, Hoymiles recorded total revenue of RMB 1.32 billion, up 4.57% YoY, but an adjusted net loss of RMB 74.89 million, marking a 132.27% decline. While the company had posted an adjusted net profit of RMB 9.98 million in H1 2025, the outsized Q3 loss reversed its cumulative profit position for 9M 2025.
