Sungrow completes controlling stake acquisition in Taiho Intelligent

Solar PV inverter manufacturer Sungrow has completed its acquisition of a controlling stake in Taiho Intelligent. In October, Sungrow announced that its subsidiary, Sungrow New Energy Development Co., Ltd., would invest RMB 450.56 million ($62.13 million) to acquire a 10.24% stake in Taiho Intelligent, a provider of AI-based vision recognition equipment and services. On November 26, Sungrow announced the completion of the transfer, and now holds 18,773,220 shares of Taiho Intelligent, accounting for 10.24% of the company's total shares, which means Sungrow New Energy has become the controlling shareholder of Taiho Intelligent.

Earlier this month, Sungrow reported that its net profits were up 5.21% YoY for the first 3 quarters of 2024 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Shuangliang Eco-Energy increases capital in subsidiary

Solar production equipment maker Shuangliang Eco-Energy has announced a capital increase in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shuangliang Silicon Material (Baotou) Co., Ltd., to support production operations and business expansion. The capital increase will amount to RMB 130 million ($17.93 million), using Shuangliang Eco-Energy’s own funds. After the increase, the registered capital of Shuangliang Silicon Material will rise from RMB 200 million ($27.58 million) to RMB 330 million ($45.50 million). Shuangliang Eco-Energy's business portfolio includes photovoltaic, energy conservation, and water conservation, with its Baotou subsidiary primarily engaged in the R&D, processing, manufacturing, and sales of monocrystalline silicon ingots and wafers.

In July, Shuangliang Eco-Energy reported achieving nearly 100 GW of advanced monocrystalline silicon production capacity in the first half of 2024 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Arctech Solar expands business scope

Solar tracker manufacturer Arctech Solar has announced that it has expanded its business scope. It will now include activities such as the integration of energy storage systems, charging and swapping systems, smart cleaning robots and accessories, new building materials, and lightweight construction materials. Additionally, Arctech Solar raised RMB 1.08 billion ($149.33 million) through a private offering of A-shares, increasing its registered capital from RMB 202.46 million to RMB 218.52 million ($30.13 million) (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Cloud Live Technology secures big solar cell order

PV cell and module seller Cloud Live Technology has announced that it has won an order for 50 million solar cells from leading cloud computing and big data services provider Inspur. The value of this contract is estimated at RMB 115.75 million ($15.96 million), accounting for 60.74% of the company’s total operating income for 2023. Cloud Live Technology said that as of the announcement date, the company has won the bid for the Inspur silicon solar cell procurement project (including this public notice) for a total of about 80 million pieces of cells.

Pvsktech to build 100 MW perovskite solar cell pilot line

Perovskite cell and module maker Pvsktech is set to build a 100 MW perovskite solar cell pilot production line in Qingpu District, Shanghai. According to its environmental impact assessment report, the project will focus on the production of 100 MW of perovskite solar cells (measuring 60 x 120 cm) and related R&D activities. The company is investing about RMB 240 million ($33.09 million) in this pilot line. Upon completion, it is expected to produce 270,000 perovskite solar cells annually and conduct R&D on 3,000 perovskite solar cells per year.
