JinkoSolar’s record 34.76% TOPCon-perovskite tandem cell efficiency

Leading solar company JinkoSolar announced that its n-type TOPCon-based perovskite tandem solar cell has achieved a certified conversion efficiency of 34.76%, setting a new record. The result was verified by China’s National Photovoltaic Metrology and Testing Center (NPVM).

The company attributes this breakthrough to several proprietary advances, including high-efficiency n-type TOPCon bottom-cell technology, perovskite interface defect passivation, new crystal formation techniques, and optimized vertical charge transport strategies. With this achievement, JinkoSolar says it has surpassed the previous record of 34.22% for similar tandem architectures. It claims this is its 32nd ‘world record’ in cell efficiency and module power.

Recently, JinkoSolar announced that its high-efficiency TOPCon cell achieved an ISFH-certified maximum conversion efficiency of 27.79% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Tongwei obtains product quality control and green product certifications

Tongwei Solar’s manufacturing base in Jintang County, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, has passed the PCCC product certification and the Green Product Certification supervision and extension audit conducted by the Power Certification Center (Beijing).

The PCCC certification evaluates key dimensions, such as production process control, R&D innovation capability, and technical and quality compliance. The Green Product Certification is built on sustainable development principles and assesses the entire product lifecycle, from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to product usage and end-of-life recycling. Tongwei stated that obtaining these certifications demonstrates its strong capabilities in product quality management and environmental responsibility.

Tongwei recently announced that it is collaborating with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) on Arctic conservation and renewable energy development (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Hainan sets 1st round mechanism tariff for solar and wind at RMB 0.3998/kWh

The Hainan Power Trading Center has released the results of the province’s 2025-2026 mechanism tariff bidding for new wind and solar projects. The selected onshore wind and solar PV projects will all adopt a unified mechanism tariff of RMB 0.3998/kWh.

According to an earlier announcement by the Hainan Development and Reform Commission, the bidding covered a total mechanism power quota of 9.877 billion kWh, including 8.232 billion kWh for offshore wind and 1.645 billion kWh for onshore wind and solar PV. The onshore wind and PV projects adopted the same bid cap of RMB 0.3998/kWh and a bid floor of RMB 0.20/kWh, with a tariff execution period of 12 years.

Gansu announces results for 2nd round of mechanism tariff auction

Gansu Province has released the results of its second mechanism tariff bidding round. It involved 1.52 billion kWh of mechanism electricity across 701 wind and solar projects, all adopting a unified mechanism tariff of RMB 0.1954/kWh with a 12-year execution period. The tariff level remains unchanged from the previous round.

The province allocated an 830 million kWh quota on October 16 as part of its first-round of mechanism tariff bidding, with wind and solar projects also clearing at RMB 0.1954/kWh. A total of 61 projects were selected.
