LIANS Technology Launches Vertical Suspended HJT PV Project in Hainan

PV cell and module manufacturer LIANS Technology (formerly Leascend) has completed its first demonstration project using vertically suspended PV installation technology in Hainan, which has now entered commercial operation. The concept, which the company calls ‘Chuan Chuan PV’, uses bifacial modules connected in series and suspended vertically across single spans of 200-300 m instead of conventional south-facing tilted mounting. The company says the design avoids occupying conventional ground-mounted PV areas and reshapes the generation profile to better match electricity demand patterns.

The project uses the company’s G12 zero-busbar (0BB) heterojunction (HJT) bifacial modules, with mass-production power output of up to 765 W, conversion efficiency above 24.63% and a reported bifaciality factor of nearly 95%. LIANS says the vertical structure and reflective wings are designed to capture additional reflected light, improve generation during morning, evening, and diffuse-light conditions, and accommodate local wind conditions.

LIANS started mass production of its 765 W HJT module at its GW-scale facility in Meishan, Sichuan Province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Hoymiles and Huarong Financial Leasing End Residential PV Partnership

Microinverter maker Hoymiles has agreed with China Huarong Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. to prematurely terminate a residential PV cooperation framework, originally valued at an estimated RMB 1 billion. Signed in May 2025, the agreement had generated cumulative cooperation volume of approximately RMB 162 million by the announcement date. The termination will not affect confirmed orders or ongoing operation and maintenance services.

Hoymiles attributed the decision to policy changes, shifting market demand, and lower expected returns from residential PV projects. The two companies have conducted approximately RMB 351 million in cumulative business over the past three years. Hoymiles said it may pursue further cooperation with Huarong Financial Leasing in commercial and industrial (C&I) PV, utility-scale solar, energy storage, and wind power.

CHN Energy Commissions 60 MW/120 MWh Storage Plant for Intertidal Solar-Hydrogen Project

CHN Energy subsidiary Guohua Energy Investment has commissioned and grid-connected a 60 MW/120 MWh energy storage plant supporting its 400 MW Guohua Rudong solar-hydrogen-storage project in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province. Local media have described the project as China’s largest intertidal solar-hydrogen-storage project. Part of China’s third batch of large-scale wind and solar bases, it combines 400 MW of PV capacity, the storage plant, and a hydrogen production system rated at 1,500 Nm³/h.

The solar plant was fully connected to the grid in April 2025, with expected annual generation of 468 million kWh. The newly commissioned storage facility comprises 27 battery containers rated at 5 MWh each, together with integrated power conversion and step-up units, and connects to the grid at 220 kV.

Recently, CHN Energy operationalized all four 660 MW units at its Ningxia Zhongwei Power Plant, completing the 2.64 GW project (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

CR Power’s PV Electricity Sales Rise 35.1% in 9M 2026

Major power developer and electricity retailer China Resources Power (CR Power) reported that electricity sales from its subsidiary PV plants reached 1.68 million MWh in September, up 31.2% year on year (YoY). Sales from its wind farms rose 12.4% to 3.89 million MWh, while total electricity sales from subsidiary power plants increased 9.0% to 19.72 million MWh.

In the first nine months (9M) of 2026, the company’s subsidiary power plants sold about 185.60 million MWh of electricity, up 9.7% YoY. PV plants accounted for 13.65 million MWh, up 35.1%, while wind farm sales rose 1.6% to 39.89 million MWh.

Shanghai’s 50 MW/200 MWh Energy Storage Test Base Achieves Full-Capacity Grid Connection

The 50 MW/200 MWh energy storage system (ESS) in the first phase of Shanghai’s advanced energy storage test base has achieved full-capacity grid connection. The project combines a 30 MW/120 MWh semi-solid-state high-voltage cascaded battery system with a 4-hour all-vanadium flow battery unit.

The project developer, PowerChina Shanghai Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd., describes it as China’s first demonstration project to combine high-voltage cascaded semi-solid-state batteries with long-duration energy storage. The system uses gas-insulated transmission line (GIL) technology to connect to an existing power plant busbar and includes a megawatt-scale pilot testing platform.

The platform will provide testing and certification, technology assessment, and high-power grid-connection performance testing services for companies across the energy storage supply chain.
