Chint Power supplies liquid-cooled ESS for 33.975 MW/100 MWh project in Anhui

The Fengyang Phase II C&I energy storage project in Chuzhou, Anhui Province, has been fully grid-connected. With a total capacity of 33.975 MW/100 MWh, the project is equipped with liquid-cooled energy storage systems supplied by Chint Power, a subsidiary of Chint Group, which also owns Astronergy.

Chint Power explained that the project adopts an operation mode that charges and discharges twice in a day, designed to reduce electricity costs through peak shaving and demand-side management, while also serving as an emergency backup power source. The system includes an intelligent demand forecasting function that integrates production plans, weather data, and historical load profiles to dynamically optimize charging and discharging. The company says it charges during off-peak hours and discharges during peaks, maximizing both cost savings and system efficiency.

Last month, Chint Power introduced a 500 Ah+ string-type grid-forming AC-side energy storage solution, claiming it to be the first of its kind worldwide (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Astronergy receives CNAS accreditation for calibration laboratory

Solar cell and module manufacturer Astronergy announced that its Photovoltaic Testing Center has obtained Calibration Laboratory Accreditation from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The company claims it is the first laboratory in China’s PV industry to receive this qualification. Astronergy said its testing center has formed a professional calibration team and added over 100 calibration instruments and standard devices, covering measurement fields including length, thermal, electrical, and mechanical parameters, thus establishing a comprehensive calibration system. CNAS had previously accredited the center as a Testing Laboratory.

In May, at Intersolar Europe 2025, Astronergy announced a collaboration with TÜV Rheinland to qualify its PV modules under the IEC TR 63279 technical report (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Yunnan Guosheng New Energy commissions Phase I of 10 GW PV mounting system factory

Yunnan Guosheng New Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of steel manufacturer Jiangsu Guoqiang Group, has officially commissioned Phase I of its 10 GW solar mounting system manufacturing facility. Located in Yuanjiang, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, the site serves as the company’s southwest manufacturing base with a total investment of RMB 150 million ($20.9 million). The project is designed for an overall capacity of 10 GW and will produce fixed, adjustable, and tracking PV mounting structures.

Yingli Solar, JA Solar, and JinkoSolar win 804 MW TOPCon module tender

Hebei Jiaotou Hengtai Energy Co., Ltd. announced the results of module procurement for its two PV projects, with a combined AC capacity of 670 MW and total module procurement of about 804 MW. Both projects require n-type TOPCon bifacial dual-glass modules with an output power of 620 W and above.

The bid winners and prices are as follows:

·         Yingli Solar: RMB 0.707 /W ($0.0986 /W)

·         JA Solar: RMB 0.7215 /W ($0.1006 /W)

·         JinkoSolar: RMB 0.722 /W ($0.1007 /W).
