LAPLACE to present at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference Tomorrow

The TaiyangNews Cell Production Equipment Report, published recently, discussed the innovations in cell production equipment. As a follow-up, TaiyangNews is now organizing a virtual conference to expand the coverage and dialogue on production equipment.

At the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Cell & Module Production Equipment & Processing Materials, Josua Stückelberger, Director of Technology – International Business Unit at LAPLACE, will be presenting on the topic titled: Powering World’s Solar Future: LAPLACE Manufacturing Solutions for N-type High-Efficiency Solar Cells.

The Conference is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 09:30 to 13:00. For the full agenda, please visit our website. Click here to register for free.

Multiple PV firms listed in MIIT’s 2025 5G factory directory

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released the 2025 5G Factory Directory, which features factories leveraging 5G technology to empower the industrial internet, enabling intelligent manufacturing upgrades, digital transformation, and network connectivity. Several PV manufacturers are included, such as DAS Solar’s Yizhou plant in Shanxi, LONGi’s Ordos plant in Inner Mongolia, Tongwei Solar’s Nantong plant in Jiangsu, Solargiga’s Yancheng plant in Jiangsu, GCL SI’s Yancheng plant in Jiangsu, Trinasolar’s Suqian plant in Jiangsu, and ZTT New Energy’s Jiujiang plant in Jiangxi.

DAS Solar’s DBC cell achieves 27.77% efficiency

Solar cell and module manufacturer DAS Solar has announced that its cell, based on in-house DBC cell technology that combines TOPCon and back-contact (BC) structures, has achieved a conversion efficiency of 27.77% and an open-circuit voltage of 745.7 mV. According to the announcement, this achievement has been certified by the China Photovoltaic Product Quality Certification and Testing Center (CPVT). The company states it began developing DBC technology in 2020, migrating the SiO2/Poly-Si passivated contact structure to the rear side of the cell to integrate TOPCon with BC architecture. DAS Solar adds that its DBC cell technology has evolved from version 1.0 to 3.0 Plus over the past 5 years, with efficiency improving from 24.5% to 27.77%.

Recently, a square-meter-scale perovskite/TOPCon module and its 100 MW-class production process, jointly developed by China Three Gorges, DAS Solar, Microquanta, and Beijing University of Chemical Technology, was included in the NEA’s 5th batch of ‘First (Set) Major Technical Equipment’ for the energy sector (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Sineng Electric more than doubles overseas revenues in H1 2025

PV inverter and energy storage converter manufacturer Sineng Electric reported a 13.42% YoY increase in revenues for the first half of 2025, reaching RMB 2.184 billion ($306.32 million). Net profit, excluding non-recurring gains and losses, rose 23.31% YoY to RMB 194.77 million ($27.32 million). Notably, overseas business surged 105.85% YoY to RMB 977.12 million ($137.01 million), while domestic business fell 16.81% YoY to RMB 1.207 billion ($169.18 million).

Last month, a first-of-its-kind 150 MW/300 MWh grid-forming shared energy storage power station was put into operation, with Sineng Electric supplying 5 MW grid-forming converter-boost integrated systems for the project (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

China’s GEC trading prices surge in 2025

According to the latest data from the National Energy Administration (NEA), the agency issued 236 million green electricity certificates (GECs) in July 2025, including 75.02 million solar power certificates and 77.73 million wind power certificates. From January to July 2025, the NEA issued a total of 1.60675 billion GECs, comprising 354.67 million solar and 654.03 million wind certificates. On the trading side, 416.38 million certificates were traded during the same period, including 172.77 million solar and 212.64 million wind certificates. The average trading price reached RMB 6.88 ($0.96) per certificate in January-July 2025, a sharp increase from the full-year average of RMB 2.92 ($0.41) in 2024.

NEA recently reported that China’s green power transactions grew 43.2% YoY in July 2025 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
