Solar PV manufacturer, TCL TZE (TCL Zhonghuan), and PV materials manufacturer Cybrid have signed a strategic agreement for light-conversion encapsulant film in Suzhou. The companies will establish priority purchasing and supply arrangements. The focus will be on the deployment and global promotion of Cybrid’s Raybo® light-conversion film in TCL TZE’s back-contact (BC) and TOPCon modules. The film converts ultraviolet light into visible light to reduce UV-induced degradation and improve long-term module reliability.
Cybrid and TCL TZE also plan to work with universities and research institutions to establish a Global Light-Conversion Materials Research Center, which will study advanced light-conversion materials and explore applications in emerging PV technologies such as perovskites and other industries.
Chinese inverter and energy storage supplier, GoodWe, announced that it has entered a strategic partnership with JND TECH, a supplier of digital power products and solutions. They will jointly develop and commercialize power supply and distribution systems for AI data centers (AIDCs). The partners plan to focus on high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) power systems for next-generation AI computing centers, high-power server power supplies and high-power-density digital power systems.
Both the companies aim to establish an integrated power chain spanning the grid, energy storage, racks and server power supplies. GoodWe has identified AIDC energy storage and solid-state transformers (SSTs) as medium-to-long-term-growth businesses. The partnership is intended to accelerate its expansion into coordinated computing-and-power applications and data center energy management.
Leading supplier of PV inverters, energy storage solutions, and digital power products, Sineng Electric, supplied its equipment for a 200 MW/800 MWh independent shared energy storage plant developed by Guangchu Energy Technology. The plant has now completed grid-related tests and entered commercial operation. Located in Yongji, Shanxi Province, the four-hour facility is equipped with 32 sets of Sineng Electric’s 6.25 MW string-based PCS and step-up transformer integrated units, along with 430 kW liquid-cooled string PCS. The plant will provide ancillary services including peak regulation, frequency regulation and black start. Sineng Electric estimates that the project could absorb around 272,000 MWh of surplus renewable electricity annually, while the system architecture leaves room for future extension of the facility’s discharge duration.
Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission has issued project-management rules for new energy storage, dividing its provincial project database into a capacity-price eligibility list and a self-implemented project list.
Standalone grid-side storage projects may enter either list, while standalone frequency-regulation storage is not eligible for capacity-price compensation. Shared storage linked to renewable energy bases may enter the self-implemented list, while other generation-side and user-side projects are excluded from the database.
Grid-side storage projects that fail to enter the database within two years of filing will have both their filing and grid-connection opinion invalidated. Projects unable to connect on schedule may generally receive only one extension—up to six months for electrochemical storage and 12 months for projects with longer construction cycles, as per the rules.
The notice identifies 7.57 GW of recommended grid-connection capacity for standalone grid-side storage, with regional guidance to be updated annually.
