China Power Construction Group (PowerChina) has concluded its 42 GW of solar modules and 42 GW inverter procurement auction, picking a total of 34 winners for the massive tender launched in December 2023.
The state-owned construction giant had called for 42 GW module capacity with cell sizes of 182 mm and above, to be awarded in 2 packages of p-type and n-type each.
According to local media reports, the list of 22 winners for the module procurement includes names like LONGi Green Energy Technology, JinkoSolar, Trina Solar, Risen Energy, Yingli, Chint, among several others. A total of 15 winners have been selected for each of the 4 packages.
For 4 GW p-type modules under package I, the lowest price was determined as RMB 0.856/W; and for 8 GW p-type panels under package 2, the lowest was RMB 0.806/W.
The volume for the 2 n-type packages was much higher with 10 GW and 20 GW. China Power secured the lowest bid of RMB 0.909/W, and RMB 0.87/W for the 2 categories, respectively.
PowerChina has also shortlisted 12 inverter suppliers for 42 GW of string/central inverter capacity with names such as Huawei, Sungrow, TBEA, GoodWe and Kehua Digital among the shortlisted companies.
