Intersolar Europe 2022 day 2 was one again full of exciting new developments with SPE calling for 20 GW annual solar manufacturing along the value chain; Meyer Burger presented upgraded version of its rooftile; TrinaTracker launches SuperTrack; Sofarsolar lands 150 MW order.

Call for European solar manufacturing: SolarPower Europe (SPE) CEO Walburga Hemetsberger opened the EU Solar Initiative session calling for the region to reach a minimum of 20 GW annual solar manufacturing capacity along the whole PV value chain by 2025. She stressed that fossil fuels are driving energy prices into unseen heights, therefore the urgency to act to shield Europeans while ensuring companies can remain competitive in a global world.

Meyer Burger exhibits European modules: European solar cell and module maker Meyer Burger presented its Made in Germany heterojunction (HJT) modules at the show in 3 variations of Meyer Burger White, Meyer Burger Black and Meyer Burger Glass along with solar roof tile called Meyer Burger Tile. The company also held a live demonstration of a house roof model of the optimized version of the innovative roof tile it presented at Intersolar in October 2021. The upgraded version is not bound to a fixed substructure dimension. Its extremely flexible. The company targets private roof systems with complete new or replacement roofing, properties in renovation and monument protection areas or houses with limited roof loads for the roof-integrated solar systems. It plans to deliver the 1st selected reference customers from H2/2022.

TrinaTracker launches SuperTrack: TrinaSolar's tracker solutions business TrinaTracker launched an 'innovative smart control system' called SuperTrack at the event. It includes a Smart Tracking algorithm that increases energy production by up to 3% to 8% vis-à-vis conventional tracking algorithms. It touts intelligent tracking technology for SuperTrack combining Smart tracking (STA) and Smart Backtracking (SBA) algorithms to enhance energy production.

Sofarsolar secures 150 MW order at Intersolar: Sofarsolar signed a 150 MW order for its new intelligent residential energy storage system SOFAR PowerAll from kdisolar at the event. The company claims easy installation and unparalleled efficiency for its new product.
