EPC Power has launched its new manufacturing plant with an initial annual capacity of 27 GW
The facility will manufacture power inverters for energy storage, grid applications, and AI data centers

EPC Power, a US-based manufacturer of power inverters and power conversion systems (PCS), has opened a new manufacturing facility in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, with an annual capacity of 27 GW.
The 167,000-square-foot facility is the company's second manufacturing site in South Carolina and its third overall. Announcing its launch last week, EPC Power said the factory will reach full production capacity by July 2026, with the ability to scale to 40 GW. The company already operates factories in Poway, California, and Greenville, South Carolina.
At its second South Carolina plant, EPC Power says it will produce its M and MRACK series power inverters, which are designed for grid, battery storage, and AI data center applications. The products use its Agile Grid Forming technology to help manage fluctuating power demand from AI workloads while supporting grid stability.
“Our expansion in South Carolina is a direct response to the AI infrastructure investment and power demands we're seeing worldwide,” said Jim Fusaro, CEO of EPC Power. “By tripling our capacity, we're giving data center and utility operators access to more critical components domestically, which de-risks their expansion plans and strengthens supply chain resilience.” Fusaro was previously the CEO of US solar tracker manufacturer Array Technologies (see Jim Fusaro To Leave Array By 2022-End).
The Goldman Sachs and Cleanhill Partners-backed company’s manufacturing expansion aligns with a broader industry push to strengthen domestic clean energy supply chains.
In a recent white paper, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) said the US has reached 55 GW AC of annual solar inverter manufacturing capacity as of July 2026. It calls for expanding domestic inverter manufacturing capacity to ensure the security of the country’s growing solar and energy storage infrastructure against evolving cyber risks (see SEIA Calls For Cybersecure, US-Made Solar & Storage Industry).
