Solar-powered e-methanol project: Denmark’s European Energy A/S and Japanese trading firm Mitsui & Co. Ltd. have secured a green-financing bridge facility for their solar park and e-methanol plant in Denmark. Previously christened Solar Park Kassø (SPK), the project in Kassø is developed via a joint venture of these companies. The site produced the initial batch of e-methanol in May 2025 for container vessel Laura Mærsk, operated by key offtaker A.P. Moller – Maersk. Additional offtake agreements are in place with the LEGO Group and Novo Nordisk, among others, the duo stated. The e-methanol project has an annual production capacity of up to 42,000 tonnes. It is powered by the Kassø Solar Park, which has been operational since 2023. The bridge facility from Nordea and SMBC, with a partial guarantee from EIFO, provides the JV with short-term liquidity, as it targets an active process to raise long-term project financing.

New projects in the UK and Poland: Uniper has announced plans to invest in 5 new solar PV projects in the UK and Poland with a combined capacity of 288 MW. Around 219 MW is located in Poland’s Pakość, Kłodawa, Domanowo, and Krotoszyce, while 68.8 MW will be located in Scotland’s Berryhill Solar Park. Uniper is already constructing up to 280 MW capacity in the form of 6 projects as part of its strategic decision to invest around €8 billion in growth and transformation projects by the early 2030s.

Hybrid wind-solar park: Eurowind Energy Romania will develop a hybrid wind-solar park with approximately 49.6 MW installed capacity, evenly split between wind and solar PV at 24.8 MW each. The Siminoc project will be built in Constanța County for an estimated €65 million, under Romania’s contracts for difference (CfD) scheme. On completion in 2028, it is expected to generate 120 GWh annually. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.

Financing for Amarenco: Independent power producer (IPP) Amarenco has closed a €300 million junior financing package arranged by Eiffel Investment Group. The facility refinances Amarenco’s existing junior debt facilities, aiming to optimize its capital structure and support the continued growth and operation of its renewable energy portfolio. This marks the 8th transaction between Amarenco and Eiffel Investment Group since the start of their partnership in 2018.
