Masdar, EPCG Sign Initial Deals Under 2 GW Partnership

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company Masdar and Montenegro's state-owned utility EPCG have taken the next step in their planned 2 GW renewable energy partnership. They have signed agreements for their initial solar and energy storage projects. The companies will jointly develop the 115 MW Štedim and the 35 MW Krupac solar PV projects, while also exploring more than 400 MW of pumped hydro energy storage through a separate framework agreement. The projects are the first to move forward under the 50:50 joint venture established in April 2026, under which they aim to develop up to 2 GW of renewable energy capacity in Montenegro (see Global Battery Storage News Snippets).

Nadara Completes €1.2 Billion Refinancing Deal

Renewable energy producer Nadara has secured a €1.2 billion pan-European refinancing to support the next phase of its growth strategy. The financing covers 47 wind and solar PV plants with a combined installed capacity of 1.5 GW across Italy, the UK, France, Spain, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Nadara says it will support 34 onshore and 13 solar PV plants. It strengthens the company's balance sheet, provides greater financial flexibility, and supports investment in its renewable energy portfolio across Europe.

Linde Signs Six Renewable Energy Deals Across EMEA and India

Industrial gases company Linde has signed six new power purchase agreements (PPAs) to source renewable electricity for its operations across Spain, Greece, South Africa, and India. The agreements, covering wind and solar projects, are expected to supply approximately 0.63 TWh annually. It will support the company's efforts to increase low-carbon energy sourcing across its EMEA and APAC operations.

Mexens Funds 230 Renewable Projects With €288 Million Debt

French renewable energy producer Mexens, formerly Technique Solaire, has secured €288 million in senior debt financing to support the construction of a portfolio of 230 solar and wind projects across France and Spain, totaling 244 MW of installed capacity. The financing, backed by a consortium including Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole entities, and CIC Corporate & Institutional Banking, marks the first time the company's portfolio includes wind projects alongside solar PV. It says this reflects its transition to a multi-energy business model. Mexens aims to expand its operational renewable energy capacity to more than 4 GW by 2030.
