Solar car with BC technology: LONGi has entered a strategic partnership with Belgium’s Innoptus Solar Team as they collaborate for their new-generation high-performance solar racing car, Infinite Apollo. The car is equipped with BC cell technology and flexible PV solutions. This solar car will compete in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) in August 2025. This recently unveiled car will be the 11th generation solar race car for the Innoptus Solar Team.

LONGi is providing technological support to the team with its high-efficiency BC cells with zero metal contact and flexible TaiRay wafers, boosting power and aerodynamics for the Innoptus Solar Team, adapting to varying temperatures. It says these modules seamlessly integrate with the appearance of solar racing cars with their zero-metal design. These improve the efficiency of on-board solar modules.

4 wind and solar PPAs for Iliad: French telecommunications company Iliad Group has signed 4 new power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy capacity in Europe. Of the 4 PPAs, 2 are for sites in France for a wind power and a solar energy project. The French solar farm is located near Bordeaux in the Gironde region. Owned by French electricity producer Arkolia, the project will start delivering electricity under the contract from January 1, 2027 for 15 years. In Poland, it has signed up for a 12-year contract with R.Power for a Kaczory-located solar farm. In Italy, the Iliad Group has entered a 10-year PPA with METLEN Energy & Metals for a 15.2 MW solar power farm in Gionco in the Latium region.

€125 million for ESG: Benelux-focused independent power producer Energy Solutions Group (ESG) has secured €125 million ($140 million) from infrastructure investment and asset management firm Infranity. This makes Infranity a new shareholder in ESG that counts Patronale Life as its largest and majority shareholder. ESG says this capital increase will accelerate its green energy portfolio of solar, wind, energy storage and charging activities as it targets 1.6 GW of operating capacity by 2027.

105 MW CfD for Solarina: CWP Europe has signed a PPA, including a contract for difference (CfD), for its Solarina Solar PV Project in Serbia with state-owned utility EPS. Solarina won the CfD in the country’s recent renewable energy auction. Power generated by this facility will be supplied to the domestic market at a competitive price, contributing to the country’s clean energy supply, it added.

16.75 MW agrivoltaic project in Germany: IPP clearvise AG has invested in a 16.75 MW German agrivoltaic project developed by Feldwerke Solar GmbH. The Triticum project in Bavaria’s Oberndorf am Lech is planned for commissioning in the beginning of 2026 with a guaranteed 20-year feed-in-tariff (FiT).

AIKO’s BC module deals: Leading back contact (BC) technology company AIKO signed several utility-scale agreements at the recently concluded Intersolar Europe 2025. This includes a 340 MW module supply agreement with Greek renewable energy company Green Line Energy, affiliated with agricultural machinery distributor Agrotech, which is foraying into clean energy. Another 200 MW contract is for Versolvio d.o.o., a Southeast Europe-focused renewable energy developer. Yet another 50 MW deal was signed with WISELY Energy, part of the DEVELO Group. Additionally, at the event, AIKO also bagged a deal for 225 MW of its Stellar series of modules to CrossBoundary Energy for the Kamoa Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. AIKO said that this solar project is the first of its kind in Africa, providing a 30 MW dispatchable renewable baseload energy supply to one of the largest copper mines on the continent.

AIKO has also separately announced a 50 MW module supply deal with TPSolar for its Zonnepark Zuidvelde project in the municipality of Noordenveld in the Netherlands.

Jinko ESS expands in Europe: Jinko ESS has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with distributor SolarToday to distribute its SunGiga All-in-One products in the Benelux, Romania, Greece, Germany and Turkey. The company has also expanded its partnership with Polish private energy solutions provider TRANS-KOL to collaborate on an initial 20 MWh utility-scale energy storage project. It will integrate Jinko ESS’ G2 5.01 MWh batteries, power conversion systems (PCS), and medium voltage skid solutions. In yet another European collaboration for the company, Jinko ESS has entered a contract with Bulgaria’s Filkab to cover the supply of its G2 for utility-scale storage systems and SunGiga solutions tailored for C&I applications.
