XM, a subsidiary of Colombian state transmission company ISA, has selected a total of 69 companies as having prequalified for the country's 3rd renewable energy auction, due to be held on October 26, 2021 (see Latin America PV Snippets: Scatec, Atlas, Shell, XM).

Shortlisted names include 47 buyers and 22 renewable energy power generation companies. The 22 companies have proposed to sell power to buyers from 38 projects. Some of the names from this list of 22 sellers are Enel Green Power Colombia, EDF Renewables Colombia, Solarpack Colombia, Celsia Colombia, Canadian Solar Energy Colombia, Trina Solar Colombia, Mainstream Colombia, among others.

Having cleared legal, financial and technical requirements as prequalifiers, all of these companies have time till October 1, 2021 to present their proposals. Once the winners are announced, formal contracts will be signed on December 20, 2021, as per the current schedule.

Contracts will be signed between the buyers and sellers for 15-year duration, starting from January 1, 2023.
