Key Takeaways
  • Fujiyama Power Systems has commissioned its 1 GW solar PV cell manufacturing capacity in India’s Uttar Pradesh

  • It supports the company’s existing 1.2 GW module operations at the site in Dadri

  • The factory will produce mono PERC DCR cells, targeting demand from government-backed, subsidy-linked solar programs

  • Management says this in-house cell production will improve its cost control and shield it from global trade and tariff risks

India’s solar PV cell manufacturing has expanded by 1 GW with Fujiyama Power Systems Limited commissioning a factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri.

Built for INR 300 crore, the fab will produce solar cells for in-house consumption by Fujiyama’s 1.6 GW module manufacturing capacity. Of this, it operates 1.2 GW in Dadri.

In a company statement, the management shared that the Dadri cell factory will roll out mono PERC Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) solar cells as it targets growing domestic demand fanned by the government’s subsidy-linked solar programs.

It says this cell project strengthens the company’s supply-chain security, reducing its dependence on imported solar cells and improving cost control.

“By bringing solar cell production in-house, we are improving visibility and control across the value chain, reducing reliance on imported cells and improving supply reliability for our solar panel operations,” said Fujiyama’s Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Pawan Kumar Garg.

He added, “As our business is primarily focused on the domestic market with negligible export exposure, this integrated facility also insulates us from global trade uncertainties and tariff-related disruptions.”

Fujiyama trades on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) under the ticker UTLSOLAR.

TaiyangNews is bringing together the Indian solar PV manufacturing industry at the Solar Technology Conference India 2026 (STC.I 2026) on February 5 and 6 in Aerocity, New Delhi. This 2nd edition of the TaiyangNews physical conference will also have banks, investors, and policymakers in attendance. Register for the event here.
