German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has announced results of the 2nd technology specific auction for solar power in 2021. Held for system sizes of more than 750 kW, the 510 MW tendered capacity was oversubscribed with 242 bids coming in for 1.13 GW.

It finally selected 95 bids to award 513 MW, with maximum projects with 233 MW capacity will be located in Bavaria. The agency recorded highest and lowest winning bids as €0.0469 to €0.0509 per kWh, with an average winning bid of €0.05 per kWh, down from €0.0503 per kWh in the 1st technology specific auction of 2021. However, the L1 bid remained the same (see Germany: 620 MW Under 1st Tech-Specific Auction Of 2021).

Winners for this segment are listed on the agency's website. The 3rd technology specific tender round will be held on November 1, 2021.

Rooftop solar auction

Bundesnetzagentur also announced the results of the country's 1st rooftop solar auction under which the awarded capacity needs to be commissioned within 12 months. According to the last EEG revision, solar rooftop systems from 300 kW to 750 kW cannot rely on 100% self-consumption/Feed-in Premiums anymore. They are eligible for FIPs of up to 50% of their outpu or can participate in tenders.

This first tender was also oversubscribed with 168 bids claiming 213 MW capacity, as against 150 MW offered by the agency.
