IREDA concludes 5 GW CPSU auction: The Indian Renewable Energy Development Company (IREDA) has completed its 5 GW CPSU Phase-II auction selecting 5 bidders. The winners are NTPC Limited having won 1.99 GW, SJVN and NHPC secured 1 GW each, NLC India claimed 510 MW and Ircon International was able to win 500 MW capacity, for varying viability gap funding (VGF) amounts, according to Mercom India Research. Mercom had earlier said the tender was oversubscribed by an additional 1.96 GW (see India PV News Snippets: TANGEDCO, SECI, ReNew, IREDA).
LOI for 250 MW solar: Tata Power has received a letter of intent (LOI) from the Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. (MAHAGENCO) for a 250 MW grid connected solar power project. To be set up in Dondaicha Solar Park in Dhule district, it will generate power that's contracted to be sold to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). Tata Power said this project takes its total renewables capacity to 4.611 GW, comprising 2.947 GW installed and 1.664 GW under implementation.
Adani's green hydrogen plans: Adani Group's top boss Gautam Adani has said his company will be investing $20 billion over the next decade on renewable energy generation, component manufacturing, transmission and distribution. It will also foray into green hydrogen production. Speaking during JP Morgan India Investor Summit, Adani said the group will triple its renewable power generation capacity over the next 4 years, power all datacenters with renewable energy, and turn its ports into net carbon zero by 2025. The group currently has 4.92 GW of operational renewable energy generation capacity and another 5.124 GW under execution, according to a news report by the Press Trust of India (PTI).
New trading division of Gautam Solar: Solar panel maker Gautam Solar has launched its trading division to enhance the sale of its solar panel components including cells, EVA, backsheet, ribbon and aluminum. According to local media reports, the division has been planned to boost the ongoing demand for solar energy and to support growing smaller businesses in the sector. It also plans to collaborate with other key players in the future. Earlier this year, the company expanded its annual manufacturing capacity to 250 MW, increasing it from 120 MW (see India PV News Snippets: Gautam, CDC Group, ReNew Power).
