WBPDCL launches 22.5 MW floating solar tender: The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has launched a tender for the implementation of 22.5 MW grid connected floating solar PV capacity. It will be deployed by the selected bidder on different water ponds at Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station (BkTPS), Santaldih Thermal Power Station (STPS), and Sagardighi Thermal Power Project (SgTPP). Broad scope of work involves design, engineering, commissioning of the capacity with 5 years comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M). Last date to submit bids is January 24, 2022. Virescent acquires solar projects: KKR’s Indian renewable energy platform Virescent Renewable Energy Trust (VRET) has acquired 49 MW solar power projects in line with its investment strategy. The transaction cost VRET INR 3.54 billion ($47 million). These include 20 MW AC from Globus Steel and Power, 20 MW AC and 4 MW AC from Focal Energy Solar, and 5 MW AC from SunBorne Energy Rajasthan Solar. Recently, KKR has launched another renewable energy platform called Stellar Renewable Energy (see Stellar Renewable Power Launched By KKR).

Ayana commissions 150 MW solar: Ayana Renewable Power has commissioned 150 MW solar power capacity out of 300 MW of its interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected project at Bikaner in Rajasthan. It takes the company’s total operational capacity to 1.09 GW with a total management and development portfolio of 2.99 GW, the company stated.
