The non-sovereign project funding will go to support development, construction and maintenance of the project in Rajasthan's Bikaner district. On completion, the project will generate clean energy for which the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is the offtaker under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA). This happens to be the 1st solar energy supply contract for EGP in India (see Enel Green Power Bags First Solar Contract In India).

ReNew Power wins 200 MW solar project: ReNew Power has won a 200 MW AC Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) solar power project under an auction concluded by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The company said it now expects to sign a 25-year PPA with the utility by Q3/2022. It will supply clean energy to the state of Maharashtra for the winning tariff of INR 2.43 ($0.033) per kWh once it comes online By Q1/2024 (see India PV News Snippets: MSEDCL, RSEPL, Jakson Group). ReNew Power will set up the project in Gujarat or Rajasthan and said it plans to deploy Made in India high efficiency mono PERC modules with string inverters from its own facility. In May 2021, ReNew Power said it will develop 2 GW solar cell and module production capacity in Gujarat to roll out monocrystalline PERC and large wafer technology products (see ReNew Power Unveils 2 GW Solar Manufacturing Plans).

1 MW rooftop solar tender: SECI has launched a tender for operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 1 MW grid connected rooftop solar power plant at Port Blair in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. O&M period is mentioned as 5 years. As per the tender announcement, last date to submit bids is August 23, 2021. About the project, SECI said, "This would not only be a leap towards harnessing the use of renewable energy for Andaman & Nicobar, but also be means of self-reliant and economical expenditure on energy equipment, which would capitalize the abundance of Solar Energy Resources in the region."

7 MW solar project for Panasonic: Panasonic Life Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. has commissioned a 7 MW AC solar power plant for project developer Gro Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. in Maharashtra. Located at Degaon in Sindakhede district, the project uses 30,300 Made in India polycrystalline solar modules with string inverters. Gro Solar Energy has signed a PPA with MAHAGENCO through a power sale agreement with MAHADISCOM.
