30 GW RE Park in Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his home state of Gujarat on December 15, 2020 to inaugurate the 'world's largest' renewable energy park with 30 GW power generation capacity using solar and wind energy in Kutch district. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced this in a tweet. In September 2020, The Economic Times (ET) said the State Cabinet of Gujarat had approved a proposal of the revenue department to allot land in Kutch to host 41.5 FW renewable energy capacity with the help of solar PV and wind energy (see 41.5 GW Hybrid Renewable Energy Park In Gujarat). Back in 2019, Gujarat announced 30 GW renewable energy target for the state to be achieved by 2022 (see India's Gujarat Eyes 30 GW RE By 2022).

IEX expands delivery based Green Market: The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) has launched 2 new products to expand its delivery based Green Market, namely Green Daily Contract and Green Weekly Contract. This allows for trading in the new contracts in both solar and non-solar segments to commence with immediate effect. The IEX says this offers greater choice to market participants to buy renewable energy on the same day and up to 11 days ahead. These 2 contracts will enable trading in on energy basis or MWh with bidding taking place on a 15-minute time-block. According to the IEX, this will help address intermittency issues in renewable energy procurement leveraging national, regional and state level transmission network. It shared in a statement released that since the commencement of Green Market trading at IEX from August 21, 2020 it has allowed trading of 459 million units (MU) comprising 404 MU of solar and 55 MU of non-solar energy with an average price of INR 3.47 per kWh in the solar and INR 3.77 per kWh in the non-solar segments.

Orient Cement investing in solar: Orient Cement has informed the stock exchange that it has entered into a share purchase agreement with AMPSolar Technology Private Limited and AMPSolar Systems Private Limited of AMP Energy India Private Limited to acquire 26% stake in the share capital of AMPSolar Systems Private Limited for a 13.5 MW solar project under captive scheme. It has signed the agreement to meet its green energy needs and optimize energy cost, as well as to comply with regulatory requirement for captive power consumption under electricity laws.

2 MW solar project for Agartala airport: The Maharaj Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala state is set to get a 2 MW solar power plant to run on after the Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission (TERC) approved the project for the Airports Authority of India (AAI). According to local media reports, around 1 MW will be used during the day time and another 1 MW is required during night time. Half of the solar power generated will be fed into the grid which will then power the airport at night.
