Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the establishment of a Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone (REMZ) on 1,000 acres across Kunduru East village in Santhamaguluru and SL Gudipadu and Mukteswaram villages in Ballikurava mandals in Bapatla district. The zone, to be developed by Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Ltd. (APSPCL) under the state’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, will support the manufacturing of solar, wind, battery, and electrolyzer technologies. The policy aims to add over 160 GW of renewable energy capacity, attract ₹10 lakh crore in investments, and generate around 7.5 lakh jobs. Relevant state departments and utilities have been directed to fast-track implementation.

334 MW DC project approved: The State Government of Andhra Pradesh has approved the allocation of a 334 MW DC/250 MW AC solar power project proposed by SAEL Solar P12 Pvt. Ltd. in villages across Holagunda and Alur mandals in Kurnool district. The clearance follows recommendations from the State Investment Promotion Committee and the State Investment Promotion Board. The project is approved under the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, with no overlap with previously allotted renewable energy zones. The state will extend policy incentives, consider land allotment on a 30-year lease basis, land conversion exemptions, and support for grid connectivity. SAEL will be responsible for developing evacuation infrastructure and completing the project within 24 months.

HFE’s INR 150 billion RE plans: Hero Future Energies (HFE) has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government to develop 4 GW of renewable energy projects across Anantapur, Kurnool, and Kadapa districts. The agreement entails a total proposed investment of INR 150 billion in 2 phases and is expected to create over 15,000 direct and indirect jobs. The partnership also includes plans for a green hydrogen park and port-based hydrogen/ammonia export infrastructure.

Solar on Track pilot: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has launched a Solar on Track pilot at the Namo Bharat Depot in Duhai, installing solar panels directly on the tracks. The setup includes 28 panels of 550 W each, providing a total capacity of 15.4 kW across 70 m. The project is expected to generate around 17,500 kWh of clean energy annually and cut approximately 16 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year. According to the corporation, this is the first-of-its-kind initiative in any Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) or Metro system in India.

DCR cells from RenewSys: RenewSys India unveiled its new DCR M10R solar cells at the recently concluded Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025 in Greater Noida. The high-efficiency TOPCon cells, developed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) framework, aim to boost India’s solar supply chain and support module makers with reliable, high-performance components, stated the manufacturer. Whole Solar’s Founder & MD, Shailendra Prajapati, officially launched the cells at the event. These cells are being produced at the company’s Hyderabad facility, with plans to scale up capacity to meet rising demand for DCR-compliant solar components. Part of the ENPEE Group, RenewSys currently operates 5.5 GW of solar PV modules, 30 GW of encapsulants, 4 GW of backsheets, and a 4.5 GW high-efficiency cell line that’s under installation.

19.36 MW RTC power project: Round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy solutions provider Sunsure Energy has signed a long-term agreement with Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (DFPCL) to supply 19.36 MW of hybrid renewable power. It combines 13.29 MW DC / 8.86 MW AC of solar and 10.5 MW of wind energy. Power will be sourced from Sunsure’s solar plant in Dhule and wind plant in Jath, Maharashtra, and delivered to DFPCL’s facility in Raigad. The project is expected to generate about 5.50 crore units of electricity annually and help DFPCL cut over 4,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

70 MW hybrid deal: Prozeal Green Energy Limited has secured an agreement with Grasim Industries Limited, the flagship company of the diversified Aditya Birla Group, for 70 MW of renewable energy. Prozeal will develop a 49.5 MW wind and 20.5 MW solar hybrid project across Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh under this agreement. Prozeal’s initial public offering (IPO) plans to raise INR 7 billion were approved by the Indian regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), in September 2025.
