Pahal Solar’s manufacturing expansion: Indian solar PV manufacturer Pahal Solar has unveiled plans to build a 2 GW solar cell and 2 GW aluminum frame manufacturing facility in Gujarat. It recently held the groundbreaking ceremony for these projects at a new manufacturing complex in Surat. The company plans for this expanded capacity to come online by late 2026. This will mark its vertical integration with cells, since it already operates a 2 GW solar module production capacity in Surat’s Olpad across 2 operational units. Its manufacturing setup also includes in-house lamination of EVA and EPE sheets, 40 mm aluminum frame fabrication, and precision glass handling stations, according to its website. The company is also planning to expand its module capacity by another 2 GW.

ADB backs Maharashtra’s solarization and RE plans: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $460 million results-based loan and an additional $40 million concessional loan from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) to support Maharashtra’s Power Distribution Enhancement Program for Agricultural Solarization. The initiative aims to modernize rural power infrastructure, solarize agricultural feeders, and deploy 1 GW of decentralized solar generation accompanied by 500 MWh of battery storage. It aims to provide daytime solar electricity to 900,000 farmers by 2028, digitize system operations through agriculture solarization dashboards, and promote green jobs. This is expected to bring down power purchase costs and distribution losses, while reducing transformer failure rates by 25%.

LONGi & Inox partner: China-headquartered solar PV manufacturer LONGi has signed a strategic module supply agreement with Inox Solar for the Indian market, aiming to enhance the availability of high-quality solar solutions. Under the partnership, LONGi will provide its production expertise and quality assurance support to the INOXGFL Group company to ensure products meet international standards. Inox will also gain access to LONGi’s latest cell and module technologies, aligning with global advancements. The collaboration seeks to accelerate India’s clean energy transition through reliable, high-performance photovoltaic products, stated LONGi.

Largest rooftop solar order for Crompton: Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. has secured its largest-ever solar rooftop order worth INR 4.45 billion in Andhra Pradesh. The project will solarize more than 40,000 homes with 2 kW on-grid rooftop systems, totaling 77 MW. This major win comes just 2 months after Crompton entered the solar rooftop market and follows an earlier INR 520 million order in the solar space.
