SUSI Partners to invest in Chilean RE space: Private equity fund SUSI Partners from Switzerland has made its maiden investment in a Latin American market. It has signed an agreement to acquire over 200 MW distributed solar and wind assets in Chile from BIWO Renovables and its partner LatSolar. All of this capacity qualifies for the country's PMGD distributed generation segment. It is at late-stage development and expected to enter construction in early 2022.

209 MW solar PPA for EDPR in Brazil: EDP Renewables (EDPR) subsidiary EDP Renováveis Brasil has secured a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for its 209 MW AC Monte Verde solar power plant in Brazil. Located in Rio Grande do Norte state, the facility is expected to start commercial operations in 2024. The company did not specify the offtaker. "With this new PPA, EDPR continues to increase its technological diversification with 2.7 GW of secured capacity in solar and an overall secured capacity of 7.4 GW for 2021- 25," said EDPR.

61 MW solar plant online in Colombia: US based AES Corporation subsidiary AES Andes has commissioned the 61 MW San Fernando Solar Park in Colombia, calling it the country's largest PV facility. Located in Castilla La Nueva in Meta, the project is equipped with 114,000 bifacial monocrystalline silicon solar PV panels with 530 W output each. AES Andes said this is also the 1^st solar plant in the country with bifacial and tracker technology. It will supply part of energy required for the operations of Ecopetrol and Cenit in Eastern Plains.

5 GW milestone for Sungrow for Latam: Chinese solar PV inverter maker Sungrow has exceeded the milestone of 5 GW of inverter shipments to the Latin American market, and expects to achieve a new record in 2021. In Brazil alone it has shipped more than 3 GW capacity. At the recent Intersolar South America 2021 trade fair, the company introduced a 6.25 MW central inverter solution for utility scale applications, and a 1,500 V ultra powerful string inverter SG350HX with a maximum output of 352 kW. It claims for 182 GW of its inverters to have been installed worldwide as of June 2021.
