Sonnedix Exits Puerto Rico Market; Sells Assets To Infinigen… & More

Sonnedix leaves Puerto Rico: Sonnedix has transferred its 100% stake in Puerto Rico Operations to ArcLight's Infinigen renewables platform, a transaction that's due for completion between December 2021 and March 2022. The company wants to focus on its 'sustainable growth strategy in other markets in the US'. Sonnedix said the Puerto Rico Operations include Sonnedix USA Ltd, Sonnedix Solar Puerto Rico, Sonnedix Solar Puerto Rico Holdings Ltd, and Sonnedix Solar Puerto Rico Holdings II Ltd. It comprises 2 operational solar power plants with 73.2 MW capacity—Oriana and Horizon. The transfer will also comprise Sonnedix giving up stake in its operating and asset management team. For Infinigen platform, this is its maiden acquisition.

SunTegra moves production operations: Solar roof systems supplier SunTegra has moved its business operations to Link Drive in Binghamton area, from the previous location in Highland, both in New York. At the new location, SunTegra has started producing solar shingle products. The new facility will also work as its main office having administrative, sales, R&D teams. Company CEO Oliver Koehler explained the reason behind the move is accessibility to 'great technical expertise' 'talented labor' and 'a robust network of regional suppliers'. Management said it plans to ramp up production here to meet increasing demand.

CPV acquires 460 MW solar: Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) has announced completion of its acquisition of 2 solar power projects namely, the 360 MW Prairie Dock Solar in Illinois, and 100 MW Stonecrop Solar Project in Kentucky, US. Acquired from Belltown Power USA Development, LLC, both the facilities are currently under development and expected to enter construction in H2/2023. CPV sees this deal as expanding it renewables footprint in the US. The company touts 5.5 GW of clean energy generation capacity under its ownership across the country. In August 2021, CPV secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Norsk Hydro for electricity supply from 48 MW Maple Hill Solar Facility (see North America PV Snippets: Norsk, Dynamic, Q Cells).

Strategic partnership for Sunnova: Residential solar and storage company in the US, Sunnova has entered an exclusive partnership with home security and alarm monitoring services provider Brinks Home. Under the deal, Sunnova will offer its customers the option to choose from the smart home security solutions portfolio of Brinks Home. On the other hand, Brinks Home will ensure its dealers and authorized representatives offer their customers Sunnova's solar, battery and energy services options to pick from. "The solutions provided by Brinks Home complement Sunnova's, and by leveraging our collective strengths, we will help power and protect the home of the future," said Sunnova's Founder and CEO William J. Berger. Recently, another electronic security company ADT made a move to acquire residential rooftop solar market player SunPro Solar (see ADT Enters US Rooftop Solar Business).
