New JV for 4 GW RE: Elmya Energy and Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure have launched Elmantic to co-develop 4 GW of utility-scale renewable energy projects in the US. Elmantic leverages the global project development experience of Spain’s Elmya and the operational and infrastructure investment capabilities of UK-based Atlantica. It will initially focus on greenfield development of renewable energy and battery storage projects in the ERCOT and WECC markets. The RE-focused joint venture (JV) has been formed in the backdrop of the federal government’s waning support and liking for renewables. “The U.S. stands as one of the largest and most dynamic markets for energy in the world. Our formation of Elmantic during this time of resetting and growth for the U.S. power industry underscores our conviction that renewable energy will continue to play a major role in America's expanding economy,” said Elmya Managing Director Carlos Piñar.

RE for data centers: ENGIE North America and Prometheus Hyperscale have entered a partnership to co-locate data centers at select renewable and battery storage energy facilities in the US. These projects will come up along the Texas I-35 corridor, with initial sites expected to go live in 2026. More locations will follow from 2027 onward. The exclusive agreement will see Prometheus deploy its high-efficiency, liquid-cooled data center infrastructure alongside ENGIE’s renewable and battery storage assets. “By leveraging our robust portfolio of wind, solar, and battery storage assets — combined with our commercial and industrial supply capabilities and deep trading expertise — we're providing integrated energy solutions that support scalable, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure," said ENGIE North America’s Chief Renewables Officer and SVP, David Carroll.

$200 million for Catalyze: US-based independent power producer (IPP) and developer of distributed renewable energy assets, Catalyze, has achieved financial close on a $200 million Holdco facility. This Deutsche Bank revolving and term debt and letter of credit facility will enable the company to scale its platform via acquisitions, finance the pre-notice to proceed (NTP) development, and accelerate project deployments. Previously, Catalyze raised $400 million in financing with ATLAS SP Partners and an $85 million tax equity investment from RBC, taking its total capital raised in 2025 to nearly $700 million (see North America Solar PV News Snippets).

$250 million for Arevon: Renewable energy developer Arevon Energy has secured a $250 million tax equity commitment from Wells Fargo Bank for the 430 MW DC Kelso Solar Project. This Scott County, Missouri, facility will be developed in 2 phases for a total investment of $500 million. It will own and operate the facility. Phase I is scheduled to achieve grid operations by the end of 2025, followed by Phase II coming online in Q1 2026. Once fully operational, the project will boost Missouri’s installed solar capacity by nearly 50%. Contracted by Meta for 2 long-term Environmental Attributes Purchase Programs (EAPA), this project achieved $509 million financial close in March 2025 (see North America Solar PV News Snippets).

Ingeteam’s largest US solar facility online: Spanish technology group Ingeteam has commissioned its largest US solar project to date with the 640 MW DC Parliament Solar Plant in Waller County, Texas. Developed by Parliament Energy, the facility will generate about 1,100 GWh annually, powering 140,000 homes. Ingeteam supplied 149 of its INGECON SUN 3Power Series C liquid-cooled central inverters, integrated into 80 UL-certified transformer stations, helping complete the project ahead of schedule using grid-forming technology.

Approval for Northern Crescent Project: Primergy Solar, the utility-scale solar and storage projects developer, says the permit for its Northern Crescent Solar + Storage Project has been unanimously approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC). The project comprises up to 150 MW AC of grid-connected solar generation and 50 MW of grid-charged battery energy storage capacity in Faribault County. This permit approval will enable the project to find a suitable offtake customer and connect to the grid by 2028. Primergy says the project is expected to qualify for clean energy tax incentives. It adds to the company’s growing national portfolio of over 10.3 GW of solar and 51.5 GWh of battery storage in development and construction. Primergy’s operational portfolio comprises 1.2 GW of solar and 1.5 GWh of storage.

142 MW solar project: Washington-based utility Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has broken ground on a 142 MW solar power plant, which will be partially co-located within the existing PSE Lower Snake River Wind Project in Garfield County. The Appaloosa Solar Project will leverage existing transmission rights and infrastructure of the wind facility and minimize costs. Constructed by Qcells EPC using Qcells modules, the project is expected to come online by the end of 2026. It will contribute 4% toward PSE’s 2030 clean energy targets and help meet peak summer demand, stated the company.

TaiyangNews will explore the US solar market in view of the regulatory shifts at the upcoming RE+ 2025 event in Las Vegas, US. It is co-organizing the 2025 Solar Made in USA summit in collaboration with RE+ and EUPD Research. To be held on September 8, 2025, the event will feature leading names from the world of solar to discuss the future of US solar and storage manufacturing and future strategies for the players in light of the regulatory hurdles created by the OBBBA. Registrations are open and can be done here.
