The Oman Power & Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has released the list of companies it has pre-qualified to submit proposals for two solar PV projects – each with 500 MW to 600 MW capacity. It had launched the request for qualification (RFQ) round inviting global players to express interest in developing Manah Solar I and Manah Solar II projects in July 2019 (see Oman Issues Tenders For Over 1 GW Solar PV).
The agency received 14 submissions from international and local consortiums from 14 different countries, of which nine consortiums were 'either conditionally, or unconditionally qualified'. These pre-qualifiers are from Oman, France, Japan, Portugal, Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE and UK.
The list of pre-qualified applicants who will enter request for proposal (RFP) round, as shared by OPWP is as follows:
"The implementation of these projects shall follow the successful IPP model established in Oman, using a fair and transparent competition process to award the contracts to two highly qualified private sector companies delivering world class technology solutions," said OPWP in a brief statement.
