Poland’s Cumulative PV Capacity Over 1.8 GW

Poland has been adding well over 200 MW on an average in both 2-months periods between January 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020, as per PSE that says by May 1, 2020 the Eastern European country's cumulative PV capacity has reached over 1.83 GW. If this continues, Poland will install well over 1 GW this year.

Polish grid operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) says Poland's cumulative installed solar PV capacity by May 1, 2020 amounted to 1,832.7 MW, as per data submitted to the transmission system operator (TSO).

This, it said, is an increase of 181.42% from last year and a growth of 8.1% month on month. PSE shared this information on its Twitter handle.

Previously, the PSE had shared that till March 1, 2020 the country's installed solar power capacity reached 1,596.5 MW or 1.6 GW. This means in the 2 months of March 2020 and April 2020, Poland added 236.2 MW of new solar power capacity to the national grid. Between January 2020 to March 2020, 296.9 MW of new capacity was reported.
